I like DeRozan but if you're blowing things up it makes sense to move on from him. On the wrong side of 30 and won't have more trade value than he does now. If the Vuc trade hadn't happened the Bulls could've made a very easy and quick pivot to rebuilding with youth. Imagine adding Franz Wagner (plus WCJ and another first rounder) to the young guys on the team...
Don’t know what moves the Bulls will make, lots of opinions, but it’s pretty obvious that they need to be retooled.
I only care that Ayo lands on his feet, never was and never will be a Bulls fan or a fan of the current NBA style of play.
But…
Go Ayo

Watching Meyers Leonard recent tweet from gym (about 20 3p in a row with pregnant wife tossing him the ball)...if I were bulls I'd give him a shot.

The Bulls were just embarrassed TWICE on their home floor on National television by an opponent that spent much of the time LAUGHING at them. And in fairness, it was hard NOT to laugh at them.

I can just imagine what how the Bulls would have responded years ago with Sloan, Van Lier, Love, and Chet Walker fighting and snarling and scrapping back at any opponent who would do such a thing. And then later, with Michael and Scottie and Dennis having their way with you and smirking about it.

Opponents hated to play the Bulls back then because every game was a dogfight and you had to work for every possession. Especially on their home floor.

But with today’s Bulls... you just go around looking dejected and cashing your big checks and looking confused. And then going out the next game and missing Threes and not playing defense.

Playing and competing with pride. Looking like you care. Not letting yourself be embarrassed like that by anybody. How about THAT, Bulls?

If the Bulls were smart they would get the Offense off the veterans right now who are not producing and let Ayo have run of the Offense and the floor. This guy HAS PRIDE and CARES. Which seems more than most of the other Bulls can say right now.

The Bucks are clearly a superior a team. But it is in HOW the Bulls are playing that is insulting to Bulls fans and the City of Chicago.

Ayo can't do it alone. But was born to lead the Bulls out of the wilderness if he’s given the chance.

You simply will not make any noise come playoff time if Zach Lavine and Nikola Vucevic are key parts of your core. SOFT.
I have my doubt about Donovan, too. Combing Lavine's health concerns, I would let him go. As for Vooch, the question is who to replace him.

My personal favorites of the genre are the posts that take great pains to state they "don't watch/hate the NBA style of play" (what even is this?) but have zero doubt that a Bulls roster that just made the playoffs for the first time in five years must be nuked from orbit (except Ayo).

I don’t watch the nba just because I don’t have a ton of time. But when I am able to, I see a bunch of 5 out movement with cuts and off ball screen reads before the shot clock dictates a pick and roll for a quick scoring opportunity.

Has anybody here watched the warriors? The way they play is beautiful and they have some of the passers in the league right now (which is arguably more skilled than its ever been).

We have centers facilitating offenses and averaging 3-4+ assists per game. Does anybody realize how SPECIAL that is?

I can already tell you’re ignorant and clearly don’t know very much about the Bulls or the NBA lol…Ayo is a first year player that is still learning. He only got the starting spot for so long because both Lonzo and Caruso were out anyway, and Billy had no other choice. You can’t just throw Ayo into the fire like that, expecting a good result. There’s a reason Billy is playing mostly experience during these playoffs. Like I said earlier, Ayo is still young and learning, and obviously not quite ready for that yet, so you would definitely not just want to throw him in there and let him run the offense in this type of situation. Your wish may be granted though anyways, because Caruso may just be out game 5 which means Ayo would definitely get the start in his place.

No Caruso or Lavine ayo will get lots of Playing time
Prediction: Ayo scores 60 and leads the Bulls to a win, then proceeds to demolish the Bucks in games 6 and 7. He retains his starting spot though the playoffs, averaging over 30 ppg the rest of the way as he leads the team to an NBA title. Bulls resign him to a max deal and build the team around him. He leads said team to 7 championships and wins himself a matching 7 MVPs before retiring as the greatest to play the game.

By "prediction" I mean fan fiction.

Ayo (and the entire Bulls team) is struggling. He didn't shoot the wide open three twice.
