You realize that Illinois would have been a constant relegation candidate for most of the past 25-years?
What can I say, I’m a sucker for an underdog.

Super College Football is exciting though. Bielema has us pointed in an upward direction. Let’s go get ourselves promoted!

Some of my initial thoughts on this (my apologies in advance if any of these have been mentioned already)...

B1G has got A LOT of TV money rolling in, especially since I think their new TV deal starts this year. With adding USC and UCLA, you would now have BTN in the three biggest TV markets in the country.

The next biggest TV market out west that would have schools interested in leaving is probably Phoenix. I wonder if Arizona and Arizona State ask if they can come along with USC and UCLA to the B1G.

With all due respect to the folks at Wazzu and Oregon State, places like Pullman and Corvallis aren't really bringing in much. Eugene probably doesn't either if Nike isn't right there.

Does the Pac-12 bring in someone like Gonzaga as a basketball-only school? Do they try and poach the Mountain West?

Does Mizzou see what's happening and consider leaving the SEC for the B1G?

from my perspective UWash is a fit .
but I’m a 60 year old UI alum sitting in the chicago suburbs - so what do I know ? this morning I woke up and the thought of USC & UCLA in our conference was the farthest thing from my mind

If you bring Washington in, you have to bring Wazzu along with them. You think it's bad going to places like Lincoln, NE in the middle of winter? Try Pullman.

Why would Mizzou leave the SEC? It's a lateral move. And the SEC doesn't care about academics.

Mr. Tibbs

southeast DuPage
and we aren’t ever taking IowaSt
and I can’t imagine ever taking Kansas either
neither bring in any real revenue additions to justify giving them a slice of pie

The prize is ND I would think
This.

We have Michigan already. Purdue and Indiana for in-state rivalries. We've just added USC. If we were to add Stanford, another ND rival, I think they'd really struggle to say no. Particularly given the money and the way the landscape seems to be shifting.

It's musical chairs now. Better get a seat while you still can.

From a purely selfish viewpoint . . .
There is only one Big Ten champion each year. The more schools in the conference, the lower the chance that it will be us.
To be fair, that chance has been pretty low for a long time as it is. I'm as hopeful as any one that BB can turn it around, but it's always been a long shot
