Michigan 19, Illinois 17 Postgame

Only 28 ejections from Michigan Stadium during win over Illinois.

There were a few guys in stripes that should have been kicked out, too. I am pissed!
28 ejections…in a game they won? I get that same of ‘em were for vaping or whatever…but, It begs the question: What would they have done had they lost? What would the count of been in that scenario?…some call out the national guard number?280? 2,800? Geesh.

Illinois played a great game and could have won. The refs did not cost Illinois the game. Those who saw the 15 yard pass interference call at the end as wrong need to have their eye checked. Yes Colston Loveland should have been called for offensive pass interference for blocking before the pass was released but refs often miss such a particular call. Check the video to see the numerous holds from the Illinois side. Sorry but Illinois does not play clean pass defense. Now Michigan is a run first team and was missing one of its running back duo for the whole game and its Heisman trophy finalist Blake Corum for the second half. It was also missing its tight end. It was also missing its top edge defense person Mike Morris In fact Michigan was missing 30% of its starters for the game. In short Michigan was playing with one arm tied behind its back for the second half. Granted, their receivers dropped some balls and their quarterback did not have a good game, but they made some gutsy fourth down calls near the end and pulled the game out. Illinois payed the best game of their season and wanted it for their coach whose mother passed. Bit when push came to shove they could not stop Michigan in the manner that Michigan stopped them at the end to get the ball back. Say what you like, that is the mark of a championship team.
Actually, we played better against Minny, Wisky and Nebraska. If we had played as well against UM as we did against those 3 we win going away

Was at the game and boy did the M fans stop talking smack once we tied the game. More interesting than not, on the no-call 4th and 4 with a minute left in the game we heard the words PICK from several fans clearly........ and no flag............................ that was the biggest break M received. A 4th and 14 would have been tough to overcome! Our sideline was going crazy pointing it out, to no avail.
In college football, offensive PI is a 15 yard penalty. As I stated previously, and what ticks me off the most, there is only about a 5-10% chance of converting 4th and around 20. That missed call goes from 95-99% chance of Illini winning to around 40%. Talk about a win probability swing caused solely by a missed call at a timely point in the game. In the past, this call gets missed a lot, but there has been a renewed focus to call these pick plays. Simply inexcusable officiating miss at a critical point in the game.

i think it might be time for a class action law suit against the BIG. Even if we don't win, it might force an even playing field.

Never ever ever going to happen. Illinois is thanking their lucky stars to be a part of the B10 revenue sharing tribe. We may complain hear and there but that’s as far as it will go.

So we’re really just B actors in a scripted promotion like WWE? Pays well but isn’t a real competition, since the winners are preordained. We should be happy that it pays well because our version of WWE hauls in a LOT of money. Aren’t we lucky little supporting actors!

Personally I’d prefer a level playing field with half as much revenue. Let the winners be determined by athletic performance rather than the officials and be happy with whatever revenue it produces.

I understand the sentiment, but it’s not the real world. Our athletic dept would be relegated to the bottom of the B10 with half the revenue. Again, I’m sure Josh and Bret are complaining but suing the league is not on the table.
And I absolutely hate when I screw up a post with a wrong word like “hear” instead of “here” and can’t fix it! 😑

What I meant was let B1G revenue tank if that’s what it costs to allow a level playing field. I have no interest in watching fake “competition”, no matter how lucrative a spectacle it produces for B1G and its members. The MSU officiating was sloppy with faked injury timeouts (also emulating WWE) but seemed more unprofessional than biased. However, the fix was clearly in during the last few minutes Saturday. Another obviously rigged game and I’m probably done. They can have my money or rigged B1G money but not both. That’s my real world, unenthused about cheering on supporting actors in a B1G West ghetto, regardless of the cut for the DIA from getting MSU into the CFP.

They aren’t going to sue the league. But if you knew what I know…this isn’t the last we will here from BB about what’s going on in the B1G offices and with the way games are officiated.
Just wondering if BB felt this way at Wisconsin or Iowa?

Didn’t have playoff money on the line then…..

I’m curious if BB ever realized he was getting the benefit of these types of calls at Wisky. I’m sure during their run of league titles they probably felt the royal treatment at least a time or two.

Maybe he’s always crusaded for a level playing field, maybe his eyes have been opened to the downtrodden now that he’s with us, or maybe it’s just way worse now?

No matter what, I’d honestly love to see what he thinks considering his breadth of experience.

Can't wait to hear. It obviously won't change the outcome of the game(s) but it will be great to hear/read Illinois (Bielema, Whitman or whomever) shove it it up the B1G's @$$.

After we publicly complain, and we absolutely should, given how we were jobbed at Purdue and the potential vindictiveness of B1G officials, is it possible to be treated even worse by a B1G officiating crew?

With the credentials and credibility BB brings to the table, and with the backing of JoshW, there is no better person to push this issue. Let's see where it goes.

Go gettem JE and BB. We know nothing will happen. Dust off another apology letter. They should put a wall of apology letters in the Smith Center. Why does it seem it is against Mich?
