Chicago media personalities are COMPLETELY miserable losers, by and large ... even the "good" ones. It's in their DNA to complain and act like their high standards aren't being met, like someone who's afraid to get hurt so never dates anyone that is "beneath them." :ROFLMAO: This ranges from the tepid/cautious love shown to the Blackhawks or Bears to the absolute disdain for the local college teams unless they're winning big.
You definitely got that right. Seems like anytime the score, especially Bernstein, has the chance to bash the Illini he’s all over it. What a putz

Half of them are probably Illinoisians who couldn't get into Illinois.
Yeah, and the other half are probably Iowans who couldn’t get into Illinois the last time the two teams played @ SFC.
By that I mean…they didn’t know how to get to Champaign. They simply can’t read maps or don’t know what they are.

They do this every year. Pose as some other fictional group; enter dressed as the other team's fans, then reveal themselves as Krush after the game starts. They have posed as boy scouts and family reunions in the past.

This year they called themselves 'the Illinois Chapter of the Boys and Girls Club"; which does not exist. It is a fictional group.

There are "Boys and Girls Clubs of 'fill in a location'." There is also "The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs."

There is a reason Krush uses a fake name for their annual road trip. When they use their real name; the other schools won't sell them the tickets.

Perhaps the name raised a red flag that took 4 months to investigate? The tickets were purchased in October. Buses were chartered for 200. Individuals booked hotel rooms. Iowa waited until yesterday to cancel the tickets.

Iowa implied Krush obtained a discount by posing as a charity. That is apparently false. The discount is allegedly available to any group of 20 or more. Besides, Krush is a 501(c)3 origination.

If they got some sort of charitable org discount; due diligence would call for submitting a correct name and an identification number with the application.

It was probably stupid to use a name similar to a real organization, but at the end of the day, it amounts to college fun and games they have been doing for 20 years.

Six thousand bucks is six thousand bucks. The bus company is the real villain here!

I have noticed that two of the most despised opponets in the Big10 are Iowa and Indiana
I have have always had strong animosity for the Whosiers
What are some good reason for developing an intense dislike for he Hawkeyes? :)
For me it started in the 80s. Carver-Hawkeye was an absolute house of horrors for us- the arena was loud and filled to the brim with obnoxious fans. To say it was a hostile environment playing there is an understatement. And then the players that they had on that team- I hated Roy Marble but respected him and despised BJ Armstrong, and Horton, amongst others. And then came the Bruce Pearl incident that set our program back a decade based on harassment and lies. Playing Iowa was a true rivalry game- fierce, bitter, and angry with games generally being close. Then from the late 90s to the early 2010s the rivalry started dying down- we began dominating them and continued up until the late 2010s when they largely dominated us. You didn't see the same animosity or fights. But that all changed with both our teams return to relevance and to be honest Illinois-Iowa has been a heavyweight bareknuckle physical fight the past few years and the stakes for those games have been B10 championships on the line. While Indiana is our historic rival, one can definitely make an argument that Iowa is our most bitter one. And quite frankly in a time where rivalries are disappearing left and right, Illinois-Iowa is something I take quite some joy in seeing still exist. In sports it's not always about the hometown heroes, sometimes it's about the villains. And Iowa has been a true one of those to us in my lifetime.

I began mining the net for reasons to hate Iowa. Please feel free to add to the list.

REASONS TO HATE IOWA

Iowa stinks. In actuality, figuratively and literally. The place smells. I'm hoping that the Illini do not bring back the collective stench of the state of Iowa. Hate Iowa more if they do .Between the fertilizer, abundance of methane-producing heifers and steers and the Maid-Rite sandwiches that the state holds dear, Illinois is essentially heading into the Midwestern United States version of Chernobyl. Here's to hoping that the Illini make it back okay.

Herbert Hoover If your parents or grandparents suffered during the onset of the Great Depression or anytime throughout, you have Herbert Hoover to thank for it, and Iowa to hate for it. Hate Iowa because their greatest president is also coincidentally the worst president in the history of our nation. Anybody who claims Warren G. Harding to be the worst obviously didn't have to live within the confines of a shanty down in Hooverville.. And sure, Hoover moved away to the woods of Oregon after becoming an orphan, didn't graduate high school but graduated from Stanford with a degree in mining engineering. Yes, I know. But yet, the formative years help make the man. But yet, his perpetual legacy lives in the state of Iowa giving those native Hawkeyes a reminder of their social standing in the minds of collective America.

Iowa Corn is Garbage Jimmy Crack Corn here to tell you that Iowa corn gets fed to the lowest status mules on the farm here in the Land of Lincoln. Illinois sweet corn is a dellicacy. and Iowa's is garbage, if we're being honest. We are being honest .Not only is it lacking in quality to the Illinois corn kernel, native Iowans are responsible for the misconception that ethanol was the fuel of tomorrow and not just an environmental hazard. The only corn/ethanol product that Iowans legitimately translate into actual fuel is facing an entire bottle of gas station whiskey on top of a 1970s RV before the American Ethanol E15 250 held annually the Iowa Speedway.

Their Uniform Suck Their uniforms look like the Pittsburgh Steelers.Back in the day Iowa actually asked the Steelers for permission to use the Black and Gold uniforms for Iowa , so they actually WANTED to look like the Steelers ! Sad! :)

I have heard this from many people, including my dad (Illini fan), my friends' dads (all Iowa fans) and even Stephen Bardo recently on TV ... and I'm curious why it changed so much. I mean, I literally said in this very thread that it can get REALLY loud in there (and it can!), but I would generally consider it one of the worst game-to-game atmospheres in the Big Ten, and I am clearly not alone because there are constant topics on the Iowa message boards complaining about Carver being a morgue.

He is nearly Hunter-Dickenson-level when it comes to not being able to help himself. :ROFLMAO: Wish Da'Monte were here to give him another staredown on Saturday. However, agreeing with another poster ... he could have been way more of a tool, and I'm fine with it. I am ready to let this stupid story evaporate into the wind and let the rivalry itself and the huge Big Ten implications of the game for both teams steal the spotlight!
