As his players got further from him in age, it became more and more difficult for him to impart his extensive knowledge of basketball to them, and where his relationship would go wrong with a player it would go REALLY wrong.

He's a creature of a different era, and was always going to be ill-suited to the apex level of high school recruiting.
But the guy knows ball inside and out, of that there can be no question.
