If you squint your eyes and tilt your head slightly you can see a tiger in there.Free breadsticks at games next year?!
sounds similar to Mr. Epps...............I think the sticking point was more demands from the parents on how their son should be played.
I just don't think Fears is a good enough shooter. Kid has the athleticism, good ball handler and passer, tough kid, but he's not tall and not a great shooter. In the Big Ten, it's not that hard to keep a 6 ft guy away from the rim, at some point he'll have to knock down shots to be really great.
And ultimately No, he's not backing out at this point. Doesn't mean he won't transfer in a year though.
I thought we were more of a Pizza Hut program
I think this is a good pickup but I don't think it's an upgrade on RJ. If you go back and watch a lot of the early games this year, RJ was certainly in a funk offensively and that affected his defense. But he also took a lot of heat for other guys' missed defensive assignments. This is not a shot at Domask, but RJ has significantly more potential and we started to see that at the end of the year. He was aggressive on D & rebounds, started to attack the rim, and was starting to knock down some shots. Hated to see him leave b/c of that potential. Having said that, this looks like a very solid pickup.
He almost has Caitlin Clark range!"Complete" is the word that springs to mind for Domask.
I'll buy that as an RJ replacement. Sneaky post-up game too, that's a nice club to have in the bag.
I looked at a full game video. Domask is not a run and jump athlete so he is not going to jump the passing lanes or block shots. He is very strong though and fundamentally sound.according to people I trust, he's a VG defender. course, he's moving up quite a bit on the athleticism chain, so I don't expect him to be a standout defensively. but good, yes.
one other thing: he's not coming here to be the man. this is a 4 year starter/stalwart, who's coming for the big stage and to win.
Sure, if you are grading on potential… Domask has played a lot more, a lot better, & a lot more consistently.I think this is a good pickup but I don't think it's an upgrade on RJ. Exactly!I'd rather have RJ for two years than Domansk for one also, but that's not what RJ wants so c'est la vie, do the best you can to improve the roster you've got.
Please don't be Harmon
Seems like it? Concerned a new walk-on will take playing time from the existing walk-on?Is this a father of a walk on griping about son’s playing time?
Have a feeling that when all is said and done this will be the team BU has been trying to achieve the last few years.
TSJ…..
He’s accomplished a whole lot more at the college level than RJ. He’s also ranked substantially higher in the portal. I agree though, RJ still has the potential to be special. Just hasn’t shown more than brief flashes so far. He had plenty of playing time this year. I believe his injury set him back a bit this season. I just can’t accept that he is truly a 27% 3 point shooter. I expect him to have a solid season next year.Sure, if you are grading on potential… Domask has played a lot more, a lot better, & a lot more consistently.
Seems rather petty. So Dads upset that Brad brought in the son of a guy he coached at WIU as another walk-on….got it
Domask makes us OLDER. Bet Brad mentions that in next presser within the first minute.... With a few "elite" chasers, of course.
I know he got an "offer" about a week ago and I just don't think he fits well because he isn't a shooter, rather inefficient against WAC competition, and is turnover prone. Also only has 1 year of eligibility left. Not worth a rental imo.care to elaborate?
Against lesser competition and with lesser talent around him.Sure, if you are grading on potential… Domask has played a lot more, a lot better, & a lot more consistently.
