Hopefully not, let’s seal the deal before he sees what the horseshoe looks like! Not directed to one person, despite the reply, but do you think he knows that's not the stadium as it is now?
I have to respectfully disagree, but the last three QBs were questionable and 2 of them panned out depending on how you see Art. Our OL will make the offense perform better. Our receivers are the best we have had in many years. Granted, we are taking a step back in the run game but our line will help with that. We may have one of the best lines on both sides of the ball in the West. We could use another TE who is more of a blocker to help with the run game. I am thinking maybe a JUCO to fill that spot. A RB in the portal would help with depth as we did not have depth in the RB stable. Since we have three spots open from what Illini0440 says, a TE, RB and DL to replace starters from this years team.I'd argue #2 should be a top RB. Of the key positions, it's the biggest question mark on the team and our sell should be great (one of the best OLs, Chase Brown production, B1G, unproven passing QB, etc.)
Henning is almost like a gadget player. The only way he works well is to find a way to get the ball in his hands and he doesn't have good hands. Not a fit and glad he went elsewhere. In the case of Henning, it is more because it is a small receiver that is most likely a slot guy. Illinois need a big WRs that most likely play on the outside more than another small slot guy with IW, Beatty, and Wilcher. Really is more of a square peg in a round hole.
I'd add Center and possibly a DB; although it'd be nice to have a proven transfer RB, I'm guessing 3 open spots will be filled with the best fits from a pool of OL, DL, TE, and DB. Just a guess.I have to respectfully disagree, but the last three QBs were questionable and 2 of them panned out depending on how you see Art. Our OL will make the offense perform better. '25 5' 10" 190 RB out of Germantown, TN, 4 star:
he's got a few offers
Seems like a good fit at SS with Bailey at FS, like the core we are building there. Obviously there will be a drop-off from last year, but I don't think they will be bad.His PFF scores are pretty meh but he finished the season strong (68.1 - 64.7 - 71.6). Tackling seems to be his strength. Adding a freshmen AA player is a no-brainer.
Caleb Pyfrom, Missouri Tigers, Offensive Tackle
Also plays basketball and competed in track and field as a freshman and sophomore.247sports.com
OL now scheduled for an OV.
He got caught from behind.
So this is him as a 10 year old? This video has 20k views!?!? I never thought I’d spend any time watching a 10 year old football player’s highlights let alone actually being entertained by them.
I have to say, it's pretty wild how many offers Bret has been sending out. Seems like it has been far far more than in previous regimes. His phone must be permanently overheating at this point. Exciting times to be a fan for sure.Apropos to nothing, but I couldn't even tell you the last time Illinois made an offer to a Nebraska prep.
I felt some of those fields just watching that.

Gotta fill the hole Luke Ford left...Football going positionless. We'll be starting 22 TEs
If a stud receiver or RB wants to come, by all means sign him. But BB seems to have a plan.I'd add Center and possibly a DB; although it'd be nice to have a proven transfer RB, I'm guessing 3 open spots will be filled with the best fits from a pool of OL, DL, TE, and DB. Just a guess.
Of course if a crazy talent at another position like WR or RB wants to join, you take him and figure the rest out later.
Offer the guy that caught him!He got caught from behind.
That’s how Devon Witherspoon caught our attention freshman yearOffer the guy that caught him!
So if this is true — and I’m not saying it isn’t — why did posters want him so bad when coming out of HS? Was it in large part because he’s a state kid. WR with bad hands doesn’t seem like much of a get no matter where he is from.Henning is almost like a gadget player. He was ranked 137th in the country. It’s reasonable to assume that he would be talented to be ranked so high, no? One has to wonder how someone ranked so high could have bad hands, but it show recruiting is not an exact science. So if this is true — and I’m not saying it isn’t — why did posters want him so bad when coming out of HS? Was it in large part because he’s a state kid. WR with bad hands doesn’t seem like much of a get no matter where he is from.
Just speculating, but it may be he is more of a known commodity now with practice and (I’m guessing very few) game reps against college competition. So if this is true — and I’m not saying it isn’t — why did posters want him so bad when coming out of HS? Why would we add seats when we can't fill the ones that we currently have?God, can we PLEASE get that horseshoe renovation?!
To be fair, "renovation" and "adding seats" are not mutually inclusive. Why would we add seats when we can't fill the ones that we currently have?
Uh, as the other poster alluded to, you don’t need to add seats. The Horseshoe is hideous and a comical distance from the end zone. It’d look infinitely better to have ZERO seats there and just a structure. As for capacity, there shouldn’t be any seats underneath the balcony overhang … no new stadium does that. All that capacity should be shifted to the SEZ whenever this badly needed renovation takes place. Why would we add seats when we can't fill the ones that we currently have?
