Unless I miss something, Curbelo is the second highest ranked uncommitted point guard. I would hope we are looking for someone who decommits from the draft if RayJ falls through?

That makes good sense. I’m sure there’s times an insider feels the need to get out in front too; I mean right? …I would imagine it’s really more about: instinct, feel, and just being flexible.

Not trying to be rude… honestly not..
I get that sometimes players change their minds (not saying RayJ has) but it’s absurd to me that there was “nothing at all to worry about, staff has him locked up, etc” all those promises and statements for months and its starting to seem like he may not be here after all. I mean… there were comments after comments saying he’s ours. Insiders, can you explain this?
Also, what was supposed to be announced on Sunday and then got pushed back to today (which didn’t happen.)?
I just feel like we keep getting these “boom” gifs and comments of “here soon” “next few days” “this weekend” and so on. What’s going on??

Not an insider but predicting when these decisions are going to happen is near impossible unless the player himself sets the time
I’m sure players hear from teams at the last second to see if they can get the best deal. Which may give them leverage. Also NIL deals have to be finalized which are probably complex and need lawyers to review
Also with TSJ hearing from NBA teams that may have changed how the program wanted the announcements to become public. Whoever announces first out of the 3 would seem like the reason others would comeback/commit
We just need our team to gel this summer and the Spain trip will help alot

It’s hard to predict when a player announces…Sometimes they just come out and say they have an announcement to make or they set a date and a time and you know they are announcing their commitment. Sometimes it’s just a surprise so just sit back, relax and enjoy. When he’s ready to announce it will happen.

That’s my point though. Why makes claims that don’t follow through?
It’s just a rough idea on when it may happen or the info came from a source but it just didn’t happen for whatever reason. Doesn’t mean that it’s actually going to happen on that day unless the player comes out and sets the date and time and it doesn’t mean that he’s not coming so relax! We will hear something soon.

I don't think that you're being rude at all, nor are you coming across that way. Our insiders can only go with the information given/heard. It's the specified timeframe that has made things uneasy because the target has been consistently kicked down the road. From the first time I heard that RayJ was taking more visits, to me, nothing was a lock. You take visits for a reason and whatever reason that be...once you're on campus, the ears are open and so are the doors. This has never been a done deal. Now, hopefully he still ends up here, but until it comes out of his mouth and the ink is dry, nothing is a lock.
In regards to TSJ....he's got to and will look out for #1. This is a critical year for him, so the decision is a big one.
In regards to Hawkins, he looks to be making a serious impression on some teams. He has a lot of tools for an NBA team to work with. I suspect he'll stay in the draft.
Here's to landing TSJ and RayJ....it'd be a heck of an off-season.

RayJ. TJ was going to announce this past weekend, but he's going to do one more workout this week before he does. Still very much leaning towards returning. Shannon/Coleman have until the 31st, so only a week wait on them max
