Portal kids are worse than HS kids. Until they announce they are total free agents. Of course with Caleb Love even after he announced. Poor Juwon

TSJ 4/29 MM 5/27

Last year we were expecting big improvement from Coleman, Luke and RJM. Coleman was a solid starter. We lost Luke to injury. RJ lost his jump shot.

I am expecting big junior jump from Dain and sophomore jump from Ty. If they each play 30 mpg for us we will have some significant inside scoring and offensive rebounding.

We might get some good freshman contributions from Amari.

Ooooh, someone trying to establish position as a new insider…I love it when the board turns Bravo TV
Don’t claim to be an insider. Just a guy trying to consume info from all angles and following Twitter / message board tea leaves to try and extract the reality, not with orange-tinted glasses info fed only from people close to our program

Based on this analysis; us or scum makes the most sense if he wants to start and play point guard.

Utah returns their starting point, and added another one.

Baylor appears to be looking for an experienced depth piece.

I think of Dain as a sophomore because last year was his first full season. He only played in 3 games at Baylor so I assumed he could get a red shirt.

Nichi - I like the busting brackets analysis. Why would you go somewhere to fight for playing time. Especially to Pac10 if you are from Illinois 🤔

Now if he was being recruited by Arizona State, Miami or USC I would understand

It’s a bit of a head scratcher IMO why Dennis wouldn’t choose Illinois. interested in hearing what he has to say when he does choose if not Illinois. Illinois has the NIL, all the minutes he can handle at point. Tournament team. Close to home. Outside looking in Illini have everything you think one would want.

So, As a 71 yo, 54 year Illini fanatic (on IL since the end of the Bruce Weber era), I read IL for the 5 hour drive upnorth to our WI cabin (for the first time since October), and I tried to stay calm and keep thinking that all of this recruiting drama is a minor in the big scheme of life (tribute to Pru). My conclusions: We Illini Loyalists must always remember: to be grateful to our insiders for providing the info they know ‘at the moment’ because “recruiting is fluid,” NIL and other factors are causing many, many changes to a system that we are just learning to understand, and no matter what happens, we need to be resilient to be able to stay Illini fans (as we always have). Other priorities can exist in the universe, but our constant is our love for our Illini (I don’t know why my husband didn’t use my Illini Tervis for my adult beverage). #IlliniForLife 🧡💙

The NCAA basketball rules are that if you spend even 1s on the floor, it counts as a season. (Football allows a minimum amount of play.)
