Just fabulous flights of ridiculosity. Bravo, my compadres. Well done. I only wish I could have weighed in (real time) regarding the Team Lascivious v. Team Prude death match. I also had a bon mot concerning the Madonna GIFs and RayJ but it will fall flat at this point. Something about Like a Virgin and the fact that I still (am mortified that I) recall the lyrics to that song and the video of Madonna floating along Venetian canals solely because it played in incessant rotation on MTV during my freshman fall of 1984. My roommate watched MTV constantly (along with consuming innumerable gallons of Old Style and occasional bottles of Old Taylor whiskey, which looked and smelled like turpentine) from early October until the end of the semester to assuage and numb his grief over the Padres sweeping the Cubs. Nearly 39 years later, I can't think about my dorm room in Snyder Hall that fall, overlooking Memorial Stadium and the spaceship dome of the AH) without seeing that video and hearing her whining encomium to deflowering.
Wait a minute...hold on here. The Cubs were not swept by the Padres. They actually won the first 2 games and lost the last 3......which made it even worse. I'd rather we got swept.

Correct, if my memory serves me (questionable) game one was 13-0 Cubs at Wrigley, the first postseason game there since 1945.

Didn't even Rick Sutcliffe homer?
I don't recall - but I always got a kick out of watching 6'6"/6'7" Sutcliffe bat using what appeared to be about a 28 inch/28 ounce little league bat.

A side note - spoke with Sutcliffe a couple of times when I was living in a hotel near the ESPN studios waiting to close on our new house. He, like a bunch of other sports celebs stayed there when they were in town to be on air. I made a point of not bothering them, but couldn't help myself with Sutcliffe (the '84 Cubs are my favorite team of all time) and he couldn't be a nicer guy.

My bad. Chalk it up to artistic license. ;) The Tigers swept the Padres in the WS, no?

And while we're on the topic of Gilligan's Island and basking in the afterglow of last night's moral outrage concerning the middle-aged male objectification of nubile, allegedly-inappropriately-young women I have three thoughts:

1. Ladies, please feel free to post beefcake clickbait.

2. Tina Louise & Dawn Wells anyone?

3. I had a very accomplished, formidable boss during the summer of '95. Quite attractive woman in her late 50s. She commuted weekly from Manhattan to DC, where the corporation had moved in the late '80s. Someone once asked her if it didn't bother her while walking with her husband in Manhattan when his gaze lingered on an attractive younger woman. Her reply: "Honey, I'll worry when he stops looking at them."

I know the popular answer to #2 is to choose Dawn Wells, but give me Ginger every day.

The only odd part is someone close to him obviously said he was close to a decision and then silence.
I don't disagree with your post at all, just adding something on this -- he's probably got a lot of people close to him, and they may not all want the same thing. He's a young adult and a lot of people have an interest in where he winds up, so it's not like there's just one voice he's listening to, even his own.

I find it kind of gross that there are a lot of folks armed with nothing but the rumors they have read on this board -- this board -- who are ready to dismiss his character because he's taking his time making up his mind. If that's where this has taken you, I really don't want to read your Nextdoor posts.
