Man yall are dramatic. Its a miss no doubt about it but lets stop acting like he was the best recruit in program history. We wont get someone as good but we don't need a star pg to be good lets just find someone who will play hard and run the offense. Literally everyone here was saying he's going to baylor but it'll be ok and now that it's actually happened everyone's freaking out.

I’m not calling for anyone’s head … I simply state the facts … This team as it sits is not 2nd weekend good … You just missed on the guy we had all our chips on and the backup plans are not better than anything we’ve got right now …
Brad would be a nightmare in Vegas

No, everyone said he was going to Illinois. Then Utah. Then Illinois. Then Baylor. Then Illinois. Now Baylor.

I evaluate based on performance … Brad brought us back … There’s no doubt about it … But for how much he’s getting paid … The results aren’t living up to it … Period …

Do you think Josh is super thrilled ? I mean let’s be real … Brad had a lot riding on getting RayJ … The seat is warm and that’s coming from Josh …
rightfully so. Paying alot of money to not get to the S16

Not much when you can do when:
Kid makes a promise
Kid goes behind your back and goes on another college visit
You up the NIL (Highest by far for any of the schools)
Get kids family behind Illinois
Kid still goes somewhere else
Seems like there were enough red flags with this behavior to at least have a better back up plan. I’m sure they’ll find someone that will be ok but the ceiling is now lower which is disappointing given the potential of the rest of the roster. His seat should be warming up for sure. An old school coach like Underwood is not going to make it through controversies of being tough on players without more post season success.

Jalen Cone, Hunter Sallis, Caleb Love … All were very interested …
Sallis is a wing, and Cone and Love are high-usage, high-volume guys with average assist rates, so it's completely understandable to pass on all of them. Now, if we had a chance at Isaiah Stevens and passed while holding out for Dennis, then I'd be disappointed.

I have to wonder if Cam Spencer is an option at this point. He isn't the facilitator that Collins, Dennis, and Stevens are, but his assist rate is still higher than anyone on our team last year. Seemed competent running the point in the games I watched, has B10 experience, and is a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. Rumor is he was looking for NIL money that Rutgers couldn't provide. Georgetown was a rumored destination, but it seems he hasn't yet committed to anyone.

I'm hearing some good things about this one year grad transfer out of Ketchikan, Alaska. Learned the Point Guard position by tossing lobster traps and salmon nets overboard on choppy water and threading rope through eye-holes like nobody's business. Goes by the name Weron Dilliams and is 38 years old (the education system in Alaska isn't the best). We have any interest? And more importantly would the NCAA allow the transfer?

More seriously though, this is the risk of high-end portaling. I don't see this as similar to the Eric Gordon or Cliff Alexander debacles, it's just somewhat what you sign up for when going with this approach for high talent players. Sometimes you win like we did last year with TSJ, and sometimes you lose like we did this year with RayJ. The problem is the high risk involved when portaling key starters for your roster is losses mean you are left with a gaping hole that you likely will be unable to patch up. Overall I think Brad has had pretty impressive success in winning recruiting battles, and of course this is a big loss, but at some point it was bound to happen. Here's hoping we can pull something out of a hat or someone on the team takes an enormous leap. If we aren't able to though, is there any consideration to plugging in Justin Harmon at the point as a possible stopgap and then leaving the roster spot open for Boswell? It's far from perfect but might give us something. Of course that also means a lot more minutes for Harmon than any of us will want.

We just need a point gaurd. We have shooter around now with Domask, Goode, Harmon, Gurrier and what Cohawk and Shannon can bring. Give me a pass first, steady guard to initiate offense and make smart decisions.

This team has scoring and shooting now but no ball handling or distributing.
We need ball handling, distributing, plus at least a low to mid 30 percent three point shooter that must be guarded so we have lanes for guys like TSJ, Ty, and others. I don't know much about DGL or Harmon but hopefully a quality grad transfer saw what happened today and could come available that isn't right now. The lack of shooting is why I do not like the idea of Harris or Ty being our primary ball handler. Plus at the end of games with FT shooting issues that would be nerve racking.
