Can NIL be used to pay someone to walk on and not take up a scholarship?
100% with you.Mulcahy is probably a better fit on this roster than RayJ. We don’t need a ball dominant PG, we need someone who can run a team, play hard, and play defense. He checks all the boxes & is the perfect fit.

That’s 11 guys who can play. When was the last time we could legitimately say that? This isn’t a potential group, not a work in progress group, not a young group, not an inexperienced group…..
This is a group that should contend for a F4.
Get Paul.
Notre Dame- was 3-17 in the ACC last year with a new coach and a rebuild - I can't imagine that's what he wants for his last yearFrom what I’ve been told … Expect a lot of schools …
The ones I’d say are “serious contenders” which obviously could change … Notre Dame, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, UCLA, and I’ve even heard Duke will kick the tires …
I cannot handle another L to Shrewsbury. There is some significant buzz that I have heard regarding Illinois. ND is a major player as well...but we are right there
“Which school best sets me up for life after basketball?” will play a large role here.Notre Dame- was 3-17 in the ACC last year with a new coach and a rebuild - I can't imagine that's what he wants for his last year
Kentucky- has Dillingham as one of the best PG recruits in the country coming in - I can't imagine Calipari recruiting over him, even if he does, does Mulcahy want to play with a team of freshman for his one year?
UCLA - they could make sense, he steps in for Tyger on a talented team with a lot of turnover - similar to us, but we have more experience returning
Michigan - they aren't going to be very good, although they need a PG,
We seem to be the best fit on paper - but we all know what that is worth in the world of recruiting!
Excellent point. He's a good Catholic boy, too.Shrews is licking his chops..Paul is probably as close as you can get to a Pickett.
Well that takes out Kentucky from that list“Which school best sets me up for life after basketball?” will play a large role here.
Surprised we weren't literally the 1st team reaching out. Does the staff think we have good/better options at PG?
With his Masters in Communication and Media, which school has the best program in that area?
Illinois is a great school academically but doesn't have the luster of some of the other names on that list. Hard to see him coming here then to be honest, sort of similar to Chasson Randle. Hard to blame a kid for wanting the most prestigious looking name on his degree. Soooo... We in contact with any other possible grad students? Or we about set then for the coming year?“Which school best sets me up for life after basketball?” will play a large role here.

I heard the rocky theme when I read that. Now I'm picturing Daddy brad running stairs at 420 am and waving at Terrance who is shooting hoops in centennial parkThis feels like one of the most important recruitments for Brad’s career at Illinois. The odds don’t seem favorable given who we’re up against but we have so much to sell.

This just remains to be seen. Appreciate the optimism. The board was overflowing with it last year at this time as well.We are already better than last year's train wreck.
Yeah, just not Cal's style. /sI can't imagine Calipari recruiting over him,
Mulcahy is good, but as close as you can get to Pickett? I think we’re getting carried away… 8 PPG guy with plenty of opportunity on a meh Rutgers team vs a Big 10 superstar.Shrews is licking his chops..Paul is probably as close as you can get to a Pickett.
