100% with you.Mulcahy is probably a better fit on this roster than RayJ. We don’t need a ball dominant PG, we need someone who can run a team, play hard, and play defense. He checks all the boxes & is the perfect fit.

We'd be loaded. And BU would have plenty of time to build chemistry (fairly easy with all the veterans).
I can’t be the only one who thinks Mulcahy to Illinois has a 0% chance of ever happening.
Notre Dame- was 3-17 in the ACC last year with a new coach and a rebuild - I can't imagine that's what he wants for his last year
Kentucky- has Dillingham as one of the best PG recruits in the country coming in - I can't imagine Calipari recruiting over him, even if he does, does Mulcahy want to play with a team of freshman for his one year?
UCLA - they could make sense, he steps in for Tyger on a talented team with a lot of turnover - similar to us, but we have more experience returning
Michigan - they aren't going to be very good, although they need a PG,
We seem to be the best fit on paper - but we all know what that is worth in the world of recruiting!
I cannot handle another L to Shrewsbury.

I feel the same about Mulcahy as I did Hunter - cheering for him would feel like selling my basketball soul. But as golf taught us this week, it doesn't pay to stick to your principles. When you get a chance to take the bag, you take the bag. Mulcahy is a bag and I would take him.

Illinois is a great school academically but doesn't have the luster of some of the other names on that list. Hard to see him coming here then to be honest, sort of similar to Chasson Randle. Hard to blame a kid for wanting the most prestigious looking name on his degree. Soooo... We in contact with any other possible grad students? Or we about set then for the coming year?
From what I understand, there's been some back-channeling (so we'd reached out/been in contact prior to today).

It may not be legitimate, but it does happen countless times every off season. We also have many posts indicating we have a bunch of NBA bound players and our recruits are typically gonna be “in the league” within a year or two, and/or lottery picks if “x, y, or z” occurs.
This just remains to be seen. Appreciate the optimism. The board was overflowing with it last year at this time as well.

Mulcahy is good, but as close as you can get to Pickett? I think we’re getting carried away… 8 PPG guy with plenty of opportunity on a meh Rutgers team vs a Big 10 superstar.

Count me among the people who are optimistic. Seems like the only reason you make this move is to have a memorable season at your final destination. We've got a lot to offer there. I do think he makes us preseason top 10. Notre Dame doesn't have that.
