I know it is a new day and time. Areanado hits a 2 run homerun. On the very next pitch, Contreras gets buzzed high and tight. Does one of the Texas players get knocked down tomorrow?
Marmol doesn't seem the type to engage in that sort of stuff.

Agree. However, your catcher got buzzed high and tight. It was a purpose pitch. Future hall of fame manager, Bruce Boccy, was sending a message by knocking down your catcher. My view is the Cardinal manager needs to stand up for his players. Poor optics in my opinion. Maybe business will be taken care of today.Marmol doesn't seem the type to engage in that sort of stuff.

that near collision between Walker and Edman would have put Edman on the IL.....................ouch..........A much needed win tonight. How many near collisions has there been lately?
was at the game Wednesday evening. Until Burleson HR, Gray had faced the minimum with runners thrown out on the bases. In general why do Cardinal hitters swing and miss alot and Cardinal pitchers don't get nearly as many swing and misses....Flaherty's line for tonight...............
Innings.....6
Hits...........2
ER..............0
W.............5
K's...........8
Cardinals batting stats...........
Hits.......2
runner's caught stealing..........2
The old good pitching / poor hitting fiasco
Goldie has only 27 RBI's for the season......................swinging and missing a lot of pitches this season..........
I do not have an answer for the swing and misses. However, the starting pitchers generally speaking are pitch to contact pitchers.was at the game Wednesday evening. i was impressed with Gray (or unimpressed with Cardinal hitters) as he had made 60 pitches and 50 strikes and 10 balls in the 6th inning. He finished with 76 strikes and 24 ball in 8 IP CG.was at the game Wednesday evening. Until Burleson HR, Gray had faced the minimum with runners thrown out on the bases. I will read it. thanksThe article on starting pitching narrative is a very good analysis of what is wrong with the pitching personnel in general....

Even our Bullpen doesn't have much swing and miss stuff - despite some having electric stuff.
It's post # 1087 above.......let me know if you finally get to read it please......................I will read it. thanks

Same narrative we have had for years. This year the cracks are showing.....In general why do Cardinal hitters swing and miss alot and Cardinal pitchers don't get nearly as many swing and misses....
