Gorman is different! Just sounds different off his bat.
yep , you are correct sir................................that was gone from the crack on the bat.............................

Once again , I am so so glad the Cardinals didn't make Gorman part of any package deal for Soto.................Still many years of cost control and I really like the look of Stormin Gorman & Walker in the lineup for the next few years..............

While I was typing my post I heard that Contreras got HBP.......did it look intentional to you ???

I'd say there was some. Willson gets pretty animated after a big play as he did after throwing the runner out at 2nd. We hit our 3rd hr of the night and then Willson gets hit.

The cardinals are so f-ing frustrating this year...........can't stand to get the win without putting all us fans into an anxiety attack..........

Gallegos in now with only a 3 run lead and the tying run at the plate................................

THATS A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monty finally gets a win........
3 two run homers
Gallegos get's a save and closes the door.............

I'm very concerned still with Goldie....something is off with his swing as he still only has 27 rbi's in the Cardinals 64 th game of the year........

Dare I say 2 game winning streak .........................lol...................

day game tomorrow @ 1:15 start.....................................

Think more of it has to do with the guys in front of him than anything. 2022 he batted 3rd more, 2021 batted 2nd in lineup more, etc. This year he is batting 2nd more in the lineup and the guys behind him are thriving. Gorman/Arenado are raking in the RBIs this season and big part of that is because Goldy is on base. Goldy might be bit behind on RBIs but still one of the leaders in batting average, on base percentage and runs scored.

I fully understand about batting order and chances of rbi's as I am not a novice in regards to MLB......I talking about his swings and misses on pitches that in his career he has mashed heavily.........Brad Thompson even talked about it last night .................

His BA is down
His RBI's are down
His HR's are down when you take into account his 3 HR game a few weeks ago

Has he started on the path of age slowing down his bat speed ?

Last night he continued a season long scenario of swinging at pitches way outside of the strike zone

I'm concerned and will leave it at that.....................I hope he snaps out of it as we need his bat to start picking up on the performance he had last year as the MVP...................His performance this year is lacking in MVP type numbers......

JMHO.............................

No doubt his RBIs are down but he is not struggling. He might be trying to force it a bit at times but his BB and K rate are around the same level they always have been. NL Leaders in RBI....Gorman is 2nd and Arenado around top 5. Goldy is the constant in the 2nd or 3rd hole for years, the leadoff hitter and guys batting 9th-1st this season not so much. Part of it is performance, part of it is injuries as bodies keep getting switched around him.

Goldy top 10 NL in hits, total bases, runs scored total bases, doubles, bases on balls, runs created, adjusted batting runs, adjusted batting wins, extra base hits, times on base, power-speed#.

I understand what you are saying and he isn't at MVP level especially compared to his past years. Outside of when Trout is healthy, I think Goldy has been the most consistent player for the past 10 seasons now. Maybe I am giving him the benefit of the doubt on that alone.

Goldy will be 36 in a few months. Not giving him a pass/excuse but he also played in the WBC Classic before the season. Wainwright got hurt and Mikolas started off the first month slow and has turned it on. Maybe just taking the old body time to recover....know mine does just watching :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Goldschmitt has always been a notoriously slow starter. Maybe he will heat up as the season continues. You make some very excellent points.

I think what is more shocking is the defense by Arenado. Sure, Goldy doesn’t have and isn’t pacing for his eye popping numbers, but still the overwhelming vast majority would kill to do what he is doing. Arenado just isn’t very decisive right now fielding. He never backs up on balls like he did today and then he took his time and the guy was safe. Then the bases clearing double.

Losing Nootbaar to injury is hurting us in the field and in the leadoff spot.....not looking good for his return anytime soon

You know, it wouldn't be so horrible to watch the Cardinals flounder if it meant they would get a quality draft pick who would help them next year. In the NFL and NBA the top draft picks contribute a lot quicker. At a glance, you have to go back to the 2015 selections before you find a top 10 selection who is now an All Star. It's definitely delayed gratification.

That's why the MLB and NHL drafts don't draw as much interest year-to-year compared to the NFL and NBA Drafts. MLB draft picks especially, it will take at least a couple years if not longer before they ever appear on the major league roster. It is possible for high NHL draft picks to be on the main roster but it has to take a special talent on that level to not have to go up through the club's minor league system.

Cards in a heap of trouble.Dejong and Contreras are rally killers for offense currently.Injuries have forced position changes that have weakened our defense greatly.Hard to figure?

I'm getting very tired of getting a lead then losing a lead and end up losing a 1 run game.......

Arenado needed to get that runner in from third and only one out in the bottom of the 8th,, but popped it up.........

27-40 for the year.............

this could be the first year in a long time for the cardinals to finish in last place and have a below .500 record...........

so many weak spots on this team it's not funny......................

I consider myself an optimist , but it's getting hard to sit down and watch them play without thinking they are gonna lose the game

jmho........................

They could do another 17-0 streak (to 44-40) and still be praying to win the Central, because they won't win a wild card.

I guess I am saying either Bill or Mo are an idiot...

They needed pitching, but either De Witt wouldn't spend cash, or Mo is an idiot. Let's face the fact that Girsch has NO POWER in the organization.

Damn, I am really disappointed at a fan for over 50 years.
