Lighten up Michael Scott 😉

If a guy who drinks a bunch of monsters can have some mild success at the beloved, imagine what I could do?!??

Games with 8 and 7 assists and the 4.2 average are pretty impressive.
Loved watching him play for Meanstreets a couple of summers ago. In control and doesn't get sped up if I remember correctly.

My 2024 starting lineup

Morez/Amria/Jase PF
Dain C
Goode SF
Ty/DGL/Nico PG
Sencire/Jase 2G
Based on the emphasis Brad puts on portalling, this is really early. Indy suggesting 4-5 incoming transfers with at least 1 being a starter seems about par for the course. Getting a guy with the skill of TSJ who can also provide solid team chemistry is the tricky part, but Brad has been one one of the most successful portallers out there, so we'll get a skill guy, that's for sure.

And while it's also too early to speculate, the numbers would suggest at least 2 players will be transferring out. I would be surprised if Dain wasn't one of them and hopefully it will allow us to retain Amani. So if I were to guess what our actual rotation may look like. It'd be:

5: Morez/Amani
4: Ty/Amani/Morez
3:TBD-W/Sencire/Jase
2: Luke/TBD-SG/Jakstys
1: TBD-PG/Jase/Nico

So with this prediction you have Dain and DGL transferring out. But is Jakstys a 2? I thought he was a project stretch 4.
From the guards, I picked DGL, but wouldn't be surprised if it was Sencire, or even Nico going pro in Europe. Maybe come combo. As for positions I just put where I thought they might see some tick. I think we are beyond loaded at the 4 if Amani stays between him, Ty, and Morez so if Jakstys gets time, I think it almost has to be at guard. I also wonder if we might pick up a transfer Center as well to fill our depth and get some length.

Needless to say, team will look a lot different next year. But that core of Ty, Morez, and Amani will be straight fire. These might be orange and blue colored glasses but outside of 4th year Edey, I think that'll be the best frontcourt in the B10. If Brad can pull in a high end PG and a high end Wing next year, that team could theoretically be better than this one. A ways to go, but a lot of hope

They will get a portal guy to replace TJ and said portal guy will start
We will get at least 4 maybe 5 transfers for next year. Can't project any lineups at all yet
That's the way Brad constructs his lineup these days. (I support that though.) Freshman for the scraps... I feel like our prep recruitment is partly based on the NIL allotted to that end.

IMO, DGL has a better chance to get more NIL elsewhere. Just saying...

Unless he decides to understand his role on this team and gets more playing time. The last game was classic. I think he was in for two possessions which included an early shot clock, NBA distance badly missed 3 point attempt and a contested drive to the basket where he put up a wild shot when he had a wide open Dain 5 feet away ready for pass. Brad immediately pulled him.

I am not convinced that Ty won’t be at the point again next year. His year of experience this year will be tough to discount and I don’t see an advantage to a non shooting 4 vs a non shooting PG. I do see a disadvantage to him guarding a 4 vs a 1. TJ replacement will be the toughest replacement and the a shooting 5 next. This season’s experience will tell us a lot.

Yep. I hope he is willing to learn the game. However, I always feel like DGL is the type of player a lesser team is wiling to pay more.

I just wonder if Adam Miller didn't transfer, what effect he'd have on this team. Did not understand that move at all.

But, hey, as BU and Illinois do--no regrets and keep looking ahead.
I think it would be bad? Across his career Miller has shot 30% on 9 3p attempts a game & has 25% usg with a (-) A/T ratio.

He's not a point guard and doesn't shoot well enough to be P5 SG. He was high effort on D, but would you rather have him or Rodgers out there?

That's brick city from 3 if you are correct. I jest of course. No way that is the starting lineup. Will be transfers and those guys will have to be shooters/scorers. Otherwise, yikes!

Was poking around 247, and here's a fun fact about a certain program that doesn't really use the portal, and has the following class rankings:
2023 (94th)
2022 (45th)
2021 (41st)
2020 (37th)
Yeah, that's Purdue.
He is a great coach until March Madness. His last 3 teams have epically failed.

I know the numbers probably don't back this up, but I thought he hit a lot of three's and some big ones, too, when playing for the Illini.

Ty is better defensively and can handle the point better than Miller, which why I'd choose him for this year's team. I just wish he develop an inkling of an outside shot and finish better at the rim.
