names mentioned by UK fans to replace Cal include scott drew, dan hurley, bruce pearl (!), billy donovan, nate oats, jay wright
Scott Drew doesn't need that kind of ridiculous pressure. He is in a comfortable situation in Baylor. He is like a king there and he can pretty much coach out the rest of his days there and create his own legacy similar to Mark Few at Gonzaga or Coach K at Duke or John Wooden at UCLA. No way he needs to subject himself to Big Blue Nation's ridiculous expectationsWho coaches Kentucky next year? Scott Drew?
You forget how big coaches' egos are, though. And most of them would jump at the chance to be list as "Kentucky Wildcats Coach".Scott Drew doesn't need that kind of ridiculous pressure. Actually, Bruce Pearl seems like a perfect fit. Fits right in with their colorful past.names mentioned by UK fans to replace Cal include scott drew, dan hurley, bruce pearl (!), billy donovan, nate oats, jay wright
I don’t think Kentucky will care one bit.
This is the program of the broken FedEx envelope. They care about winning and championships. Everything else is a distant, distant second.
Might need to call the Chubb surety departmentFire Cal - $33 million
Fire staff - $2 million
Hire new coach (who knows you are paying the current coach $33 million go away) - $10 million
Paying buyout for new coach - $5 million
Paying for surrounding staff - $5 million
My nephew will be at the Baylor game today. You are correct. Drew will not leave Baylor. He loves it there. Although they may not be recruiting on the level that K.Y. is, they are not doing pretty well.Scott Drew doesn't need that kind of ridiculous pressure. He is in a comfortable situation in Baylor. Not to be this guy, but considering how horribly we have seen TJ treated this year and how little nuance the outside world is willing to apply to our situation ... ALLEGED* assault that was literally dropped. Chris Beard is a 100% (legally) innocent man, and I don't blame anyone in the profession for treating him as such. And, without specific insider information that would allow me to pass judgment, I cannot blame them for taking that approach.I firmly believe beard is a top 5 coach in college basketball. I just don’t know if they want to hitch their wagon to him because of his assault
I agree with this sentiment. The charges were dropped. Maybe money was a factor...I don't know. But he already lost a great job over an allegationNot to be this guy, but considering how horribly we have seen TJ treated this year and how little nuance the outside world is willing to apply to our situation ... Chris Beard was not charged solely because his fiancée who continues to live with him was unwilling to move forward with prosecution, freeing Beard from legal consequences and enabling him to continue his extremely highly paid career. Not to be this guy, but considering how horribly we have seen TJ treated this year and how little nuance the outside world is willing to apply to our situation ... After losing to YALE(!) I think that you can scratch Bruce Pearl a/k/a SATAN off of the Kentucky head coach wish list.No one is too radioactive for Kentucky. Bruce Pearl? Chris Beard? Will Wade? All okay for Big Blue Nation. Hell, if Charles Manson was a whiz in the transfer portal they'd be backing up the truck. No scruples whatsoever.

Can't see Cal leaving voluntarily and the cost to KY to fire him is just too high. He will need to shake up his staff and bring in a couple of guys who can actually coach. The KY advantage of having the bag boys hanging out by the back door isn't there any more and exposes Cal's lack of coaching chops. If they turn into Michigan for the next few years I'd be overjoyed.
