Who coaches Kentucky next year? Scott Drew?
Scott Drew doesn't need that kind of ridiculous pressure. He is in a comfortable situation in Baylor. He is like a king there and he can pretty much coach out the rest of his days there and create his own legacy similar to Mark Few at Gonzaga or Coach K at Duke or John Wooden at UCLA. No way he needs to subject himself to Big Blue Nation's ridiculous expectations

You forget how big coaches' egos are, though. And most of them would jump at the chance to be list as "Kentucky Wildcats Coach".

I don’t think Kentucky will care one bit.

This is the program of the broken FedEx envelope. They care about winning and championships. Everything else is a distant, distant second.

To be fair to FedEx, it was an Emery Worldwide envelope.... with cash and a game tape sent to HS AA recruit's father that came open at the shipping processing facility. Link

Then Kentucky assistant (and future NBA coach) Dwayne Casey was listed as the sender, but apparently was out of town that day and says he didn't send it. (NCAA initially hit him with a show cause, which was later rescinded after some related litigation was settled.)

Kentucky's internal investigation concluded "someone" in the Kentucky basketball office (under head coach Eddie Sutton) likely did send the package (which was picked up there), but mused about a possible third party conspiracy to insert the $1,000 cash. Lol, feel for the lawyer who had to try to thread that needle! Link

My nephew will be at the Baylor game today. You are correct. Drew will not leave Baylor. He loves it there. Although they may not be recruiting on the level that K.Y. is, they are not doing pretty well.

Can't see Cal leaving voluntarily and the cost to KY to fire him is just too high. He will need to shake up his staff and bring in a couple of guys who can actually coach. The KY advantage of having the bag boys hanging out by the back door isn't there any more and exposes Cal's lack of coaching chops. If they turn into Michigan for the next few years I'd be overjoyed.

I firmly believe beard is a top 5 coach in college basketball. I just don’t know if they want to hitch their wagon to him because of his assault
Not to be this guy, but considering how horribly we have seen TJ treated this year and how little nuance the outside world is willing to apply to our situation ... ALLEGED* assault that was literally dropped. Chris Beard is a 100% (legally) innocent man, and I don't blame anyone in the profession for treating him as such. And, without specific insider information that would allow me to pass judgment, I cannot blame them for taking that approach.

guys I would check in on

Beard - would he move for non TX job? More likely he would go back to Texas Tech if they would take him.
Musselman - history of moving every few year, had first bad year at ARK
Dusty May - still good mid major coach but not the superstar he was last year
Lamont Paris - just signed extension but you can always bid more
Chris Collins - maybe move to someplace with more $NIL
Andy Enfield - bad season at USC, been there 11 years generally make NCAA, one elite 8 appearance
--
Scott Drew - 20 years at Baylor including national championship - he's not going anywhere
Rick Barnes - 69 years - too old
Kelvin Sampson - 68 years - too old
--

Interesting preseason article -if Brad can make elite 8 he will start showing up on these lists

I agree with this sentiment. The charges were dropped. Maybe money was a factor...I don't know. But he already lost a great job over an allegation

Chris Beard was not charged solely because his fiancée who continues to live with him was unwilling to move forward with prosecution, freeing Beard from legal consequences and enabling him to continue his extremely highly paid career.

That one cannot draw a legal conclusion from that does not mean one cannot understand the scenario and the often really ugly and tragic realities of what the implications are for bringing domestic abusers to justice, especially ones with financial means.

The TSJ thing is truly a very unusual sexual violence case across a number of dimensions and doesn't really offer a comparison point one way or another. (I can't help but add, he's been treated almost unimaginably well given the state of the legal case. Whether the legal case is justified is another matter.)

It's tough stuff. Life is not pretty and just and fair the way we would hope it could be.

All of which is to honestly say I'm not sure if Chris Beard is too radioactive for Kentucky or not. Really good coach though.

No one is too radioactive for Kentucky. Bruce Pearl? Chris Beard? Will Wade? All okay for Big Blue Nation. Hell, if Charles Manson was a whiz in the transfer portal they'd be backing up the truck. No scruples whatsoever.

After losing to YALE(!) I think that you can scratch Bruce Pearl a/k/a SATAN off of the Kentucky head coach wish list.

I think you underestimate Big Blue Nation’s disillusionment. 😝
