I agree with you- it really depends on the conditions- if it’s a mud pit and windy and throwing isn’t an option I don’t like our chances. If it’s just wet but not windy - then throwing might even be easier, I’ve played on fields like that and it makes it really hard to cover someone- the WR can plan their cuts, the DB has to react and if it’s slippery it makes it hard to stay with them

Hopefully we are well prepared for the rain in any case and have a good game plan
I've got confidence in our WRs. I'm a little worried about punt returns. It only take one muff on the road to wreck the game

On a side note, as a Premier League soccer fan, it's so cool seeing an Illinois game promoted during the Saturday morning Premier League coverage. The first time I saw the Illinois logo on the scorebug for the promotion of tonight's game during the Newcastle United-Manchester City game, I paused the TV feed to just admire it for a little while. And then to hear Rebecca Lowe - sport television's best studio host - talking about the game was a great way to start a Saturday morning gameday.

Personally, at my age (72) I have been lured into the Illinois Revival tent many times. Yet somehow this does feel somewhat different. Maybe it's the emerging faith in Luke and the OC & DC as well as BB.

So here I am, offering my Orange and Blue painted torso on the altar of the football gods. Will my heart be removed while still beating or will the sun reappear miraculously in the sky?

12 hrs till we find out.

I'm concerned about the weather, PA could get the tail end of Helene.
I am no meteorologist (IANM) but it looked like from the tracking that the remnants of Helene were heading more toward Chicago than PA. At least the major parts of it. I posted the weather forecast from the National Weather Service yesterday and here is today’s forecast. Hasn’t changed much since yesterday. Just doesn’t seem too bad as far as rain at game time. Less than a tenth of an inch. Winds seem fairly mild, too, no? I don’t know how a 3 to 6 mph wind can affect a football pass.

Today: Rain, mainly before 2 pm. High near 71. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tonight: Rain likely, mainly after 5 am. Cloudy, with a low around 62. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Welcome to the tent revival, brother Coop! May you tearfully repent of your years of doubt.
