Wanna bet? Brad is locked in for however long Brad wants to be locked in for. It would have to be a complete meltdown of epic proportions and the trajectory (recruiting) of the program would have to be taking a nose dive. That's obviously not happening.he better improve this season, because if we have the same season we had last year, Brad and Hamer are going to be looking for a new job.
What is happening? What's the excitement
22 wins, NCAA tourney win, and two first round draft picks and he’s on the hot seat? We sure are a crazy bunch.he better improve this season, because if we have the same season we had last year, Brad and Hamer are going to be looking for a new job.
Yep, and just assembled another really good team this offseason that has a chance to be one of his best teams yet.22 wins, NCAA tourney win, and two first round draft picks and he’s on the hot seat? We sure are a crazy bunch.![]()
So what can you tell us about who we “got?”Yep, and just assembled another really good team this offseason that has a chance to be one of his best teams yet.

Was it one of Indy's 4 suggested names? So what can you tell us about who we “got?”

what you mean we, kemosabe?
I happen to agree with his opinion more than yours, but agree with this post and the sentiment behind it more than almost anything ever posted on here. Most things on here are just opinions, and they should all be treated and respected as such. That's great. How many data points do you have on Josh Whitman, University of Illinois, and Brad Underwood's tenure, with the amount of money put into this program?
Oh, none? So then your opinion has no more validity than mine.
I, respectfully, disagree with the bolded portion. Some opinions are not worthy of respect. If someone says the Earth is flat, I’m under no obligation to respect that person or his position. Likewise, when someone suggests the co-winningest coach in the B1G the last six years who’s recruiting at a level never seen before at Illinois is on the hot seat, I feel no obligation to respect that opinion either.I happen to agree with his opinion more than yours, but agree with this post and the sentiment behind it more than almost anything ever posted on here. Our D was rated #40 last year?!I mean, we had the #80 defense two seasons ago (the Elite 8 year.) And then it was #40 last season. Maybe it will improve dramatically again this season. I’ll bet it does. I-L-L!
You're late. Everyone knew we got a new Pope days ago.
The issue has been they dominate the bad teams early in the year in those 5-6 Q4 home games we always schedule and then by the time big ten season starts and there’s scouting involved, we regress. Our D was rated #40 last year?!
IMO, that doesn't pass the eye test.
What has been our average roster cost over the last few years? Have we been top 5? Top 10? Our insiders want to tell us that we are, but it sure seems questionable relative to the numbers tossed out for players at other programs. But even assuming we have a "top 10" payroll, how does an elite 8 followed by a round of 32 featuring a young, injured group of Illini lead to any data point that would presume Underwood's name should come up on a hot seat list? Even if we continue to ignore that Underwood's last 6 years have been at the very top of the B1G, there are not any data points that would suggest we are underperforming overall, even last year. We were young. We were injured. We didn't have any roster continuity. THAT is the only negative we could point to right now, but hello... it is the exact same story EVERYWHERE in today's NCAA.That's great. How many data points do you have on Josh Whitman, University of Illinois, and Brad Underwood's tenure, with the amount of money put into this program?

"Respect my hot take that offers no valid data points to support it, while ignoring the myriad of data points offered to me that oppose my point of view" is not going to generally be a well received opinion.I happen to agree with his opinion more than yours, but agree with this post and the sentiment behind it more than almost anything ever posted on here. We said this last year and settled for less. I agree with both sides of this debate. Our floor has definitely been raised by Brad, but will our ceiling rise?Yep, and just assembled another really good team this offseason that has a chance to be one of his best teams yet.
