What other position do you think he would want to play?
Scouting report on 247 speculates he may end up at linebacker in the long run.

He's just a straight up elite football player/athlete. I think to win this recruitment you listen to what he wants for his future and you show him that your program can make it happen.

I'm just guessing based on playing RB and both stops he will want to be an RB.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that …

Bret told me he really wants to see what Boyd has got … It will be a true competition for the backup spot …

And that’s true for nearly all backup positions … Best players play … Period …

Bret don’t care about who getting what NIL, or anybody’s feelings (see: Terrance Brooks) … The guys who give us the best chance to win will play …
That's the one good thing... Bret is HC, GM, and Owner unlike Pro sports where GMs and Owners feel like they have to play guys because they are paying them more money.

his recruitment outta Philadelphia , MS, and his ultimate choice to play for Switzer at OU, and his frosh year there, is a great story . not sure if a frosh has had a better year than that since

Herschel, I remember all of the time. Historic career and in the HOF. Marcus Dupree is someone who was remarkable as a frosh, yet didn't follow it up.
Yep he supposedly came to play at my PhD school, USM, when I was there but I don't think he ever got on the field. Tons of talent but couldn't get healthy IIRC

pretty big family connection:

The head coach of the Howell central football team is Malach Radigan. Great young man. (My son played with him at Howell.)
Malach is all about faith and family which seems to be a priority at the Beloved.
(The Howell head coach at that time was former Illini OL Bryan Koch, who turned the Howell program around.)
Hoping we can gain more traction into STL and St. Charles County, especially on the heels of the Eberhart commitment.

That would be the ideal plan ... But with a kid like that ... We will recruit him at whatever spot he wants ...
With that size and speed he could play anywhere...

As someone who played against former Illini and NY Jets lineman JP Machado in high school, I distinctly understand the feeling #22 in white is experiencing in this photo when he recognizes that a player of Cameron Wagner's size and athletic ability has identified him as his next blocking target.

It is NOT a fun feeling. :ROFLMAO:
He still bleeds O&B. His daughter and my daughter are great friends here in the Lo. Great guy.
Ironically, his son is at Miznoz 👎.

Wisconsin seems to be Bret's favorite poaching destination. No clue why...

FWLIW, some of it is coincidence. but that Wisky is kind of wobbling is a factor. I think that Bret coached there has zero to do with it. it's all about opportunity
