Is that our tight ends coach?

All is well so far. If Henry is still coaching defense, I'm terrified. Great assistant, not the man.

Guess we are running more 10 personnel and I formation then

But seriously this transfer portal cycle seems like a last chance at some coaches keeping their jobs and Discher might be failing the test
Long before Disher it has been an issue. Illinois uses rugged TEs.

The TE pool is very limited for Illinois especially after putting Rusk on the shelf.

Hits like a LB, that's good enough for me
but I'm just a duffer like Indy's vid

Bailey staying is good to see. A lot of people rightfully talk about feagin changing positions, but am I the only one who thinks Bailey would be better at LB? Hes a good run stopper, physical tackler, seems to be better in the box. He really struggles in space and in coverage. Would adding 20lbs and moving to LB be a better path to the next level or do I just not know ball?

He's an All B1G and potential AA type of S. I wouldn't move him unless you feel Eberhart starts immediately (Which is possible).

The thing about recruiting versatile players like this is you can move him and still put him in a great position despite proven production (Might project better as an NFL LB). He's already a leader and knows the defense in and out. Enforcer on the defense. You can absolutely move him to MLB and I would bet on him as a Butkus candidate.

The good thing about it is he'll also be a Thorpe candidate as is. It really is a win-win situation all around. These recent moves just continue to add to a really good team this year. There's a lot of talent and versatility here, and they keep adding. Exciting stuff.

Bailey gets hurt every year at safety. I can’t imagine he would ever hold up at lb

This WR room is just loaded:

We had IW, Casey, Pat....

Then Pat and Zakari....

Then Hank, Collin, Clement...

Next year looking like Collin, Clement, Platt, Trimble....

The year after looking like Collin, Platt, Trimble, Naz Rankin....

Good stuff.

Don't sleep on Rankin and Alston this year potentially getting good snaps. Both will be ready to start by next year with Trimble. I'm not so sure Dixon will be here another 2 years. He'll have a decision to make as I think he's their next early round WR. Expect another big jump this year.

Saw Clement at WVU and I think he started to come along nicely. Can't underestimate the potential jump there as well. They've added some really good options and Platt brings good speed. I like the group as is between the vets and the younger players. If they can add a Coleman type (Again like Anderson too at NC St) to this group, that's a home run position group.

Great to see all the positive news. I appreciate all the updates and latest info from all our insiders. Always makes for an exciting offseason, when our insiders seem happy. My guess is that comes directly from how they know our coaches feel about our team. Cheers to all of the insiders for sharing what they know!
