St Louis Cardinals 2026

stake Pallante to a 4 run lead and watch him give it away.....send him down to AAA and bring up another pitcher.....anybody is better than this minor league pitcher.....send Saggese with him , it was his non play at third to prolong the inning.........Saggese's sidearm throws from 3rd ain't cutting it............

Obviously it’s a rating for umpires, but what do the numbers stand for. Also, he missed that 3rd strike call on Church.

Nice seeing Gorman get on ahead of JJ!

Don’t blame 3rd baseman for taking his eyes off that ball.

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!................

I had to turn off the game after Pallante gave up those 3 runs.....I think my post last night showed my disgust with him and was pleasantly surprised to see a win for the Cardinals................great to see Wetherholt get the HR and game winning RBI's..............also great to see O'Brien bounce back from his rough outing Sunday.......

I would really like to see the Cardinals get and stay above 10 games over .500 for a while.......I really really do...........

Nootbar will be an improvement. But he is not a longterm answer. Slot him in at 7-9. Do not let him get near the top of the order like he was last year.
This article suggests Noot should bat 5th after Walker. The main argument was to move Gorman down to 7 and have better Lefty-Righty alternation. I think I am with you, I would rather have Noot in the 7 spot and see if Gorman can make it work. Somebody needs to, or Walker is going to be pitched around more and more as the season progresses.

One tool from Noot I am excited to see is his plate discipline. He may be tapping the helmet quite a bit this year. ABS may have a bigger impact on his numbers than anyone else I have seen. He is notorious for getting borderline calls go against him. If he gets a few of those back, he may get some more pitches to drive.

Way to get out of a jam! And thanks to the A’s baserunners for terrible base running.

Cardinals follow that up with 2 terrible at bats by Pages and Scott. Pages stands there looking at strike three over the middle of the plate with no outs and a runner at 3rd. Scott is up and it looked like they had a squeeze play on. Pulls his bat back on a strike and Winn is out.

They most definitely had a squeeze play on. VSII left Winn out to dry. He couldn't have had a better pitch to lay down a bunt. I am not sure why he showed bunt and then pulled the bat back just before the ball crossed the center of the plate, when Winn was more than halfway down the basepath. When they showed Winn afterwards in the dugout, he was obviously none too happy.

I am more than ready to be done with VSII. He is currently batting .178 with an OPS of .471 ... we have Jon Jay on the bench in uniform serving as a coach, and I am fairly confident that he could go out there today and put up better numbers than what VSII is giving them.

I'm not ready to give up on him yet. If his numbers look like this in August, I will be with you.

VS II with an unlikely smashed tater , his second of the year..........1-1 going to bottom of 5th.....

McGreevy has retired the last 9 hitters in a row.......he gets better as the game goes on............

Jordan Walker with his 12th HR giving the Cardinals their first lead today at 2-1..........Winn just turned a ground ball into winding up at 3rd , nobody out........Gorman drives Win in with an RBI single off a lefty......3-1 Cardinals , nobody out runner on 1st.................

this HP ump has had more challenges on balls and strike calls overturned than any game I have watched this year....he really really has.....

Stanek is such an enigma to me......good stuff but poor control....gave up HR and then walked next batter in 1/3 IP.....

3-2 Cardinals with now 2 runners on and Romero in to pitch.......

now 4-3 A's and McGreevy's great game out the window................

Nice come from behind win!
Pozo 3-4
Walker 2-5
O’Reilly with the save
Ivan with a big hit.

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!...............

What an epic comeback by this gritty band of Redbirds overcoming a 4-3 deficit in the top of the 9th with a 2 run rally for the 5-4 victory........................

McGreevy with a Quality Start no decision going 6 IP , 5 H , 1 ER , 1 W , 3 K's......
Stanek and Romero squandered the lead before Svanson came in with 1 IP , 0 ER , 2 K's...........
O'Brien 1 IP , 2 K's for his 13th save..............

Herrera singled in tying run and Jordan Walker doubled in winning run in the top of the 9th........GREAT WIN CARDINALS !!!!!!!!

I wish we would have traded Romero in the off-season.
Why? This is a cut and paste bullpen with a number of borderline AAA guys, why single him out? $$$?
