They most definitely had a squeeze play on. VSII left Winn out to dry. He couldn't have had a better pitch to lay down a bunt. I am not sure why he showed bunt and then pulled the bat back just before the ball crossed the center of the plate, when Winn was more than halfway down the basepath. When they showed Winn afterwards in the dugout, he was obviously none too happy.Cardinals follow that up with 2 terrible at bats by Pages and Scott. Pages stands there looking at strike three over the middle of the plate with no outs and a runner at 3rd. Scott is up and it looked like they had a squeeze play on. Pulls his bat back on a strike and Winn is out.
I'm not ready to give up on him yet. If his numbers look like this in August, I will be with you. They most definitely had a squeeze play on. VSII left Winn out to dry. I am more than ready to be done with VSII. He is currently batting .178 with an OPS of .471 ... we have Jon Jay on the bench in uniform serving as a coach, and I am fairly confident that he could go out there today and put up better numbers than what VSII is giving them.
Glad they challenged strike 3 in the bottom of the 9th.Most ABS challenges in a game this year

I like Noot, he seems to be a good guy and a good teammate. Having said that 2026 needs to be the year he proves he's anything more than a 4th OF/platoon player. He's also had trouble staying off the injured list. Not Tyler O'Neill level trouble but definitely injury prone.Outfielder Lars Nootbaar will officially begin his rehab assignment Friday with Low-A Palm Beach, making his season debut..............
He has had a lot of opportunity to shed that 4th outfielder tag ( and staying healthy is part of the job resume). There has never been enough pop in the bat for a corner outfielder.I like Noot, he seems to be a good guy and a good teammate.
