I swear, if this prevents him from being able to watch his top 5 favorite movie this weekend
this is great info.. can do the same with high impact players (20 or 25 mpg) as well. I'm not looking for confirmation bias just curious. I also thought we may be slightly over bitten by injury bug (or false allegation bugI looked at games missed by players who average 10+ mpg for every team in the B1G dating back to the 2020 - 2021 season.
We've faired pretty well.
This isn't a perfect science. For example, I know that TSJ or Skyy Clark's missed games weren't due to injury. But I don't have that same knowledge for every team so I just counted games missed indiscriminately. Likewise, I know that Ty missed all of last season with an injury but I didn't include him in our games missed because he didn't fit the criteria of averaging 10 mpg and, I didn't want to go through the exercise of figuring out all the players on other teams who would've played 10 mpg but didn't because of an off season injury.
Here are the results in order of most games missed. (Do they have healthcare in the PNW?)
Washington - 326
Oregon - 310
USC - 262
Nebraska - 259
OSU - 246
IU - 206
Minnesota - 197
Rutgers - 178
UCLA - 169
-------MEDIAN------
Northwestern - 164
Michigan- 161
PSU - 152
Illinois - 140
Iowa - 126
Maryland - 89
MSU - 84
Purdue - 76
Wisconsin- 60
I've hit my alotted Loyalty research limit for the day. But it would be interesting to see that breakdown.this is great info.. can do the same with high impact players (20 or 25 mpg) as well. I'm glad that someone narrowed the timeline for us! (s)Right now, anywhere from early November to early 2027.
If it happens in 2055, I'll have to live to be 100 years old. Maybe I can do it.this is about the most Illinois basketball thing Iāve ever felt. Finally this is our year!! And boom best player gone for most of the season. When we finally win a championship in 2055 itās gonna be a great story of all the heartache weāve endured over the years.
If he were on the Cubs I could count on him missing the season.Unless something goes wrong, he will be back on the court starting basketball activities in October.
I love your positivity here, but with the schedule that Brad put together, an 0-fer in those games would do a TON of damage. WITH Mirk most of those games are 50/50 with Duke being 35/65.Of course it's terrible, but big picture we're looking at March/April as when we need all hands on deck and hope to make a run at a championship. If we drop a couple seeds we'll still be very dangerous with Mirk back. Ideal? Far from it, and missing a difference maker just isn't fun. But there is a possible silver lining with development and other guys getting minutes with him coming back sometime during the non-conference. Just hope he has a full recovery.
LOL! Great stuff!Just thought Iād drop by to see how everyoneās summer is gā¦

The silver lining for people getting more PT is true. That will help, but if go game by game now, depending on when he comes back..... we're looking at a double digit loss season. Again, the preconference is BRUTAL.
Let's hope it's November
I would like to see a comparison of 9th men injuries. Iāve learned from the board that is a very crucial roster spot.this is great info.. can do the same with high impact players (20 or 25 mpg) as well. For the next 6-8 weeks he will be in a boot then it will come off...and he can start low impact. Staff will ease him back in and we will see how his conditioning is at that point.Sleepers guys say theyāve gotten similar intel to Goodmanās report of 6-8 weeks.

The game I am circling is the UConn game December 4th.

Do you hate it because it provides another opportunity for bias? Or something else?Ha. Letās put the ncaaās āwe take into account injuriesā criteria to the test. In theory, they shouldnāt hold those losses against us if we do indeed lose
For what itās worth, Iāve always hated this quirk in seeding by the NCAA- even if it could benefit us here
6-8 weeks is a positive outcome IMO given the far darker possibilities. That brings us to early October-ish to start easing back into things. No need to rush but maybe he can play a few minutes in the exhibition games or first couple real games before Texas Tech on the 10th. Ideally he can get some run before that game & be in good game shape by Duke & UConn.Sleepers guys say theyāve gotten similar intel to Goodmanās report of 6-8 weeks.
Don't think we see him in 2026 portion of this season
I guess he better give our players' bones and ligaments a good talking-to so that they know they aren't supposed to break or stretch too much.Brad is the head coach of a professional basketball team. Does he know that? Would an NBA owner tolerate the number of injuries we have seen just in practices?
