It's a bit of a meme at this point yeah. But if it is about assistants, the only reason to have a press conference is from Dee Brown. No other basketball assistant is getting a presser. Dee probably wouldn't either so I don't think it'll be about assistants either.

Have to imagine so. Be pretty weird to call a presser just for a vote of confidence although now they can do it here as well. Either that or Groce is going to walk away and Whitman is going to respect him (that's not happening guys)

I'm not even sure you're disagreeing with me. Seems like your point is that years of suckage has lead to a downturn of fans being vocal and not attending games. I certainly agree with that and that John Groce is a big part of the reason. Caring or not caring is just semantics after that.

Valpo and Drew on ESPN now. Very impressed by the atmosphere there.

That I think is a problem. And if I put a tinfoil hat on for a second, I think a lot of the "good news" regarding potential recruits is put out by the Groce camp itself. As for Miller, he turned down Pitt.

There was a post about this in another thread, but Drews track record blew out what Groce did at Ohio. I'll see if I can find it. Edit here: Some slight outdated/misinformation in there as Drew didn't make the tournament this year, but I do think it shows Drews mid-major resume is stronger...

Highly doubt he takes the SLU. If he did though I imagine there'd be a massive short term buyout in place. SLU isn't stupid. They know he'd be looked at for better jobs than there.

I said it earlier but it's not too surprising. It's not football where lateral or downward moves are rare. You can never be too sure when it comes to the basketball coaching carasoul.

Hate to see the local teams do well and slowly pass us as a program. Man we need to get back to the tournament. Hield vs VCU up next. That should be fun.
