IU/PU was fun game. Make PU shoot contested 3s and they are beatable. Galloway dunk at end solidifies him on my list of most punchable faces in BIG.

Lord, I mean board, please forgive for what I'm about to say.

That last 1:23 for Iowa was about the most impressive thing I've seen in a college basketball the past 10 years. The Squawkeyes scored more points in the last minute than we did in the FIRST HALF Thursday night. Now, if they could lose every game by 50 for the next 50 years, cannula maybe be happy once again.
I watched the highlights and realized that they were still down 11 with 65 seconds remaining. They closed that gap completely in 62 seconds.

So, ...............

IF IL wins out, there is A chance IL gets some part of that elusive crown.

Hmmmmmmm..........

Tantalizing.

Schifino having a terrific game for Hoosiers ... over 30 points. Freshman really has been scoring a lot more lately.
That kid is one of the most impressive frosh I have seen in a long, long time...likely best ever. He took some very difficult shots and got nothing but net. Love his game.

Nothing I want more than to see the Illini defend their title, but at this point, both IU and Purdue are teams far superior in so many areas as to make them unbeatable by our guys. That said, this is the B1G and the Illini do have the talent to play with both. Unfortunately, shooting, FTs, bad passes, and mental blunders make the Illni too vulnerable in tough games where every possession is gold. But man, would I get great joy if somehow, they could play strong in all areas and play stellar defense!!! Don't expect it as we have not seen it but the potential is there, just not the habits.

Can we discuss Fran McCaffrey for a moment?

Normally I give coaches the benefit of the doubt when they display anger or emotion (Underwood is certainly no saint) because coaching is a tough profession and you’ve got to pound lessons both on the court and off the court into the minds of immature 18-22 year olds. Tough love, as they say.

But Fran McCaffrey is a prick.

Lost in the feel good (if you’re a Hawkeye) joy of Iowa’s improbable come from behind win over Michigan State is the psychotic moment where McCaffrey initiated a creepy stare down with official Kelly Pfeiffer. The announcers laughed at it because it was awkward, and that’s understandable . They should have criticized him because that’s a bullying tactic. We all have our thoughts on referees, but what he did was over the line. And Pfeiffer should have T’d him up again.

Fran McCaffrey is Bob Knight without the winning pedigree. He’s simply an a-hole that too many people cover for because that’s easier than challenging him.

It would not surprise me if McCaffrey’s career ended prematurely with a Woody Hayes type outburst. He’s a grade A a-hole and I hope he either changes or he gets what he deserves.

Lmao, talk about semantics … with games left in the season, it is way more logical to display the distance a team has to go upward. This isn’t some final listing, it’s meant to show the distance between teams.
It’s still wrong. It’s not just semantics, no standings in any sport are presented that way.

Purdue gaurds have been exposed. First team with good defensive gaurds knocks them out of ncaa tournament.

True. But they also have to have an Edey neutralizer. Purdue has been able to win with inexperienced guards because Edey is such an immovable force. But it can be done.

Agree completely. Psychotic dick move. Should have been tossed.

Fra
Fran McCaffrey is something else.
Fran McCaffrey is a jackass. Anytime his team is losing he throws a fit like some child. The technicals, getting thrown out of games and if you can read lips his telling the refs to F themselves. Iowa should reprimand him but they won't. the Big should suspend him but they won't. I said the same thing about coach Underwood 3 years ago when he kept going off. These coaches are suppose to set an example for theses young men and also those kids that are watching. Oh by the way Iowa came back from 13 down with 1:34 remaining and won it in OT. Fran was very happy then.

Than Fran-down clip is just about the most awkward 19 seconds I've ever spent watching a Twitter (or, for that matter, Tik Tok) video, which is really saying something.

That'll yield meme dividends for a generation at least. Probably more.
