2015-16 Blackhawks

The late starts happen every year. NHL doesn't want overlap, so we pay. Total BS. Oh, well.

Panarin's bonus, though well earned, comes at a cost: Shaw is gone in the off season.

As to the series, contain Tarasenko's line, get solid D and goaltending and that should do it. Blues have strong D and goaltending. Should be a great series.

Agreed regarding the bolded... Though for his flaws I feel that Panik can replace Shaw on the cheap. And if you don't like Panik I still feel that the type of player Shaw is will be the easiest and cheapest to replace internally.

I agree, though I'm a sentimental kind of guy. I'll really miss Shaw if he does in fact go his own way (and I wouldn't blame him if he did).

Hawks can't keep him because they're bumping against the cap ceiling. Between Kruger's new contract (well deserved IMO) and Panarin's bonuses, it's adios Shaw.

Go Hawks!

Numerous missed opportunities tonight. Both goaltenders playing well. Hawks' inability to capitalize with the 5-on-3 in the 1st really hurt.

Lots of game left. Pulling out game 1 would be huge with it being the last game of Keith's suspension.

Nice having Doc on the call tonight! My favorite announcer in sports.

Game has a strange feel to it. I'd guess all the numbers would suggest the Hawks have carried the play but it doesn't necessarily feel like it.

Too many missed opportunities. Elliot was solid, but the STL defense was better.

On to the next one.

Not the prettiest, and a bit lucky that the coaches challenge exists, but all that matters is the win.

Blues on the receiving end of a couple tough calls in this third period. Especially on the no call on the possible goalie interference.

No interference on the 8 million angles Comcast had on replay. Sour grapes. And Lehtera was offside. Really, really close though.

Tarasenko's frustration penalty cost the Blues the game.

Related to the coaches challenge: Did everyone think there was conclusive evidence to make that call? I felt like the last view that CSN showed was pretty clear but have seen some say that there was an angle to that view which could have played into it.

And I agree, no interference on the PPG.

Lehtera's trailing skate was clearly off the ice as the puck crossed the blue line. Offside. Don't know what Hitch was complaining about. The NHL is committed to getting these calls right and that was a textbook example.

How 'bout the slash on Kane's breakaway? The idea that the Hawks get all the calls is ridiculous.

I know the Hawks have been down 3-1 before and come back but I'm not betting on it this year. I think 7-8 years of all those extra playoff games have caught up to them. They never were the same once the twelve game win streak was snapped. The trade deadline moves were good on paper but haven't really made them better. Kane and Toews not scoring. Blues are getting better goaltending. Tarasenko has been the best player in the series. TVR is having a nightmare playoff. Several teams in the conference have caught up to the Hawks in talent.
