2016 COPA America Centenario

Bedoya and Jones are huge losses against Argentina. They are our 2 hardest workers. We wouldn't miss them much against an inferior opponent, but we will desperately need that hard work against Argentina.

Ah, should've known that. Yeah, Dempsey & Zardes up top. Zusi and Beckerman in, and JK parks the bus in front of Guzan. Won't matter though.

Agreed on the won't matter part. But I said the same thing before the confederations cup semifinal again undefeated Spain in 2009. Would be a miracle but Argentina is also known for choking in big moments. With Brazil out this is their chance a big tournament for the first time in a long time.

Beckerman struggles with pace against any team, let alone the pace and ball movement of Argentina. If Argentina can carry the ball up the middle of the field it will be lights out.

Agree about Beckerman. He looked like he was moving in slow motion against Ecuador. I would use Nagbe instead of Beckerman. The only reason I would play Beckerman is to have him stick to Messi like glue. Try to make it a 10 v 10 game.

You almost have to give Pulisic a shot if it is indeed Argentina, don't you?

True but the confederations cup is something not many big teams take seriously too where as it was huge for us.

Yeah, Nagbe over Beckerman. Forgot about him.

Going straight to PKs is ridiculous. Can you imagine going straight to a shootout in a game 7 (hockey)? Maybe the outcome would be the same, but feel for Peru.

I'm going to be in Merida, Mexico when the finals take place. I'd love for it to be a USA vs Mexico final. I think I'd have a blast!

With all due respect, no, it's not. They should play 30 more minutes and, if still tied, then PKs. Either that or 15 & 15, sudden death.

Ah okay. I think what you're describing is the way they do that in the World Cup. Or something similar to it.

I didn't watch much of the Peru-Colombia match so I assumed they did something similar to that in the match.

Chile with a rather emphatic statement last night. Argentina with a more mundane dismantling of debutante Venezuela.

I hope JK doesn't have us turtling against Argentina. Have no delusions about winning, but really don't want to see extreme defensive ball from the get go. If we're going to go down (hint: yes!), let's go down swinging.
