Holliday at first, he looked good there this spring, hopefully he can be good enough to get a lot of playing time there this season, I think we will be better letting our young outfielders get at bat vs adams or Moss at 1st.

So Peralta, Walden, Tejada, and Pena all start on the DL. Kewl. And I'm not even counting Lynn.

Man, it's going to be tough to see Freese in a Pirates jersey all season. I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation at Busch.

Is anybody else bothered by the "pirates" bushes in center field not being centered? There's so much unused space out there, is it too much to ask to have that moved over a few feet so it looks more symmetrical?

Has bothered me for years

I'm taking next week off to watch baseball all week long. I was going to pull the trigger on going to ATL, and staying with my cousin to go to the games. But NOOOOOO, gf said not a chance in hell. Oh well, BASEBALL is back in 4 days!!!

Dump her.

Assuming Pham is out, I would like to see Hazelbaker get a few chances this week instead of Moss/Adams. He was on fire in spring training, why not see if he is still hot?

4th straight opening day with 9+ strikeouts, lol. Glad to see a little offense in the 9th, hope it carries over to tuesday, and hopefully Pham's MRI comes back negative. Now, what am I going to do tomorrow with no game to watch?

Pham to the DL, Diaz gets the call up. At least we have a SS now, lol

I get the feeling Diaz will be here to stay. As he should have been from the get go. Why sign Tejeda? That is mind boggling.

Pham, oh man, when he's healthy he's a joy to watch.

Because he came cheap. I assume they didn't want to start diaz's service time clock yet if he was just going to ride the bench as soon as Peralta came back. If a cheap insurance policy like tejada could stem the tide until then it would give another year of club control for diaz. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but am fairly confident that was the reasoning.

As for pham, I agree. That swing just looks violent, when he squares one up its a thing of beauty.

I may be wrong, but since he was signed out of Cuba I don't think he has the service clock as a drafted player would.

Possible. I'm not familiar with the different rules for foreign free agents, you may very well be right

Wacha was getting hit hard tonight, but he was battling through it. Got really unlucky on that double play ball with the bases loaded when Diaz made the error. About the simplest double play a SS could ask for, and he messed it up.

But now it's the battle of the bullpens.
