2016 White Sox

Can anyone tell me where I can find a breakdown of how our farm system looks compared to other organizations now? I have been looking and figured they would update the farm system rankings after the winter meetings but I can't find anything anywhere. Thanks in advance.

In looking for a landing spot for Q on that list, you can cancel any team below the Cards. And working your way up cross off any team in our division, the Reds, A's, Phillies, Pirates, Padres, and Brewers. I don't think those teams are in a compete now mode looking to trade away prospects. So that leaves the Cards, Red Sox, Seattle, Dodgers, Houston, Rockies, Yankees and Braves. Even of that list, I don't think the Red Sox, Dodgers, or Seattle make a move in the off season. Would probably take an injury for the Sox or LA in season and Seattle competing for the division to make a move in season. Oh and that one team I didn't list...the Cubs

The Cardinals, Yankees, Pirates and Astros all make a ton of sense for Quintana.

I wonder about the Marlins. For obvious reasons, they're looking for an anchor starting pitcher. They might not have much on the farm, but they've got an embarrassment of riches in the outfield. Would the Sox want one of those young outfielders plus prospects for Quintana? If Christian Yelich were offered?

Odds that we move Quintana before the start of the season? What do you all think?

I think Hahn rolls the dice on his value being greater at the deadline and I hate it.

We could also see a market shift when some of these FAs come off the market. It's taking forever.

Teams overvalue prospects today. So do fans. Boston ownership could sell the Sale trade based on sale's K numbers. Quintana is a tougher sell to fans, and therefore Hahn has been forced to hold. Some contender will need an SP eventually.

This is so good

What is the weirdest moment you’ve had as GM?

One afternoon last summer, I was filling in as first-base coach for my son’s Little League team because one of his coaches had a conflict. It was playoff game, the team was making a nice late rally, and the whole thing was a great little escape for me.

Then my phone started blowing up. After a text from [manager] Robin Ventura that read, “No. Actually, he’s cut up all the jerseys,” I knew my little escape was over….

I think the Sox had some bad luck with the way free agency went. It's tough to trade Jose Abreu, as just one example, for prospects when someone like Mike Napoli is out there for basically free.

I'm still surprised that the Mets or Cardinals or someone similar haven't come calling for Frazier.
