Potential first round draft pick ?

I too love what Kendrick brought to Illinois, happy he signed when it wasn't cool, and wish him all the best, but I'm not sure he gets drafted, let alone a first round pick.

Agree with Nunn and the above, it was good to see the commit when not popular. The kid is not NBA though, he will have a very nice overseas career. Brandon Paul can do more and he is having a tough time catching on and staying with someone.

Yeah, BP3 not having a comfortable career in the NBA yet is a mystery to me. Not as head-scratching as Jimmer, but still a mystery to me. Maybe somebody can educate me as to what about BP3 that's hindered his leap to the NBA. I don't know as much about the NBA.

You guys are all reaching for things here with Jalen. TCL passing him the ball or not passing him the ball, had nothing to do with him leaving....

Sorry to lose him. When healthy, he was a solid threat.

Can't imagine anyone wanting to go to DePaul even if his high school coach is there, though. Long rides to stadium. Low attendance. Coach on the hot seat. Worst major program in the last decade. Ask Myke Henry. Playing for Underwood would have gotten him all sorts of open shots at a much better program.

Was he worried about playing time with Alstork, Smith and Frazier joining the team at his wing position? I think he would have still gotten plenty of shot opportunities.

DePud's new downtown stadium will be ready for JCL's debut. Other than that, wholly agree.

His decision making and shot selection were not always the best and while he is a good athlete and solid ball handler he was never quite at the level to consistently break down NBA defenders. Iso scoring and volume shooting was what he did and it hasn't quite translated to the next level. Always had the tools to play defense but was never really consistent with effort too.

Hopefully more experience and allowed him to be more efficient players and stick with a team. He definitely has all the tools and has been so close to making it.

The new downtown stadium is an improvement but it still off campus and will probably be half empty at best.

And it is not downtown. It's well off the beaten path near McCormick Place and is impossible to get to from campus, only holds 12,000 people and that is about 5X more fans than DePaul has averaged for the last 5 years (2500 a game). Same mistake they made with the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

The walk to the South Farms may be a long one on a cold winter's night, but its still on campus and will be well worth it to see this new brand of ILLINI basketball!

Would rather give freshmen playing time than bring a grad guard. Need game time as well as practice.

Southern Utah guard Randy Onwuasor told ESPN he has asked for his release. Averaged 23.6 points last season. Would be a grad transfer.
-Per Jeff Goodman.

Could not find any college tape of just him, so I found a highlight mixtape of his senior year. Might be worth a look for this year's team.

This dude looks like a wide receiver playing basketball, and I don't mean that in a football player who played basketball kind of way, more body type. Long, athletic. I could see bu doing due diligence based on his apparent athleticism.

I would think/hope that the only players we would consider adding at this point would be a big. I would rather we let the guards we have get the pt this season, unless there are multiple years of eligibility.

Jack Whitman 6'9" grad transfer from W & M now leaving Kansas. Not sure if still eligible or if he fits but has size.

Thought that was an interesting transfer when it happened. I can't imagine us taking him now, though a couple months ago I would've been all for it.

Let the freshman big eat up the rest minutes. No need to add a cook to the pot.

I'd take him in a heartbeat if he hasn't blown his eligibility. After the luck we have had with bigs/injuries over the last couple of years someone ready to play or back up is badly needed. Finke is coming off a nagging foot injury & didn't finish last year, Black has missed a year already with his knee, +2 freshman that look like long term plays don't scream to me that we should be set at big. Personally, I'm also a bit skeptical that playing freshman bigs that are in over there head a few minutes really helps their long term development significantly.

I know BU said he was against grad transfer, but I don't know why this wouldn't be a good idea. Have the scholarship open and we could use. See what happens, sounds like Coach was pretty set on not adding another player. :noidea::noidea:
