We're going to lose guys this offseason—including one or two we don't want to see go—but we're going to bring in guys too. If rumors are true, it's unfortunate, but it's far from doom and gloom. Finding talent on the fifth-year market will be key, but I wouldn't be surprised if we looked at kids that would have to sit out a year as well.

Buckle up, this is shaping up to be a turbulent offseason.

Loved this kid when he committed, loved his game, more so now even, and most importantly, love his overall demeanor when it comes to working hard, wanting more from himself, and more for this program.

Trent will go down as THE single most important recruit the ILLINI have had since the Dee Brown days.:chief:

I think people will be kind of shocked at the 4 I have heard are gone. But BU knows who he wants. This seasons recrutiing will be more of a fill gaps. Too late for anything else. Going to be very bad like I said earlier in this thread.

A coach gets his guys and he’ll be better off for it. But that takes time to do for sure.

Yeah, I'm hearing Underwood, Antigua, Walker, and Coleman are gone. Is that the four you're tracking?

Fear not. Being replaced by Dustin Ford, Jay Price, and the Cubits. The Canada pipeline will get us back in the game in no time.

The only person who would shock me at this point is Frazier. Spicy G would be a bad surprise because he had a really promising start, and Da’Monte too because of his ties and he looks like he can fit in nicely.

Other than that, departures won’t shock, but they will hurt. I’m prepared for black, smith, Lucas, Nichols, finke and vesel all to leave. I hope that some/all of the first four decide to stay.

The only one that would surprise me is Frazier. I guess maybe I'd be surprised about Ebo bc we lack bigs in the worst way.

I've actually heard we are planning to redshirt Underwood. Not sure about the other guys, but Ive heard we are bringing a 1yr stop-gap until Underwood grows into his shoes. Not sure, but I've heard Clappy is interested.

His brother Tim has already committed to GCU, which I think is the source of all the rumors. I haven't seen anything about Jeff moving to AZ, although he got roughed over early in the season over a roster issue.

Mike's b-ball career prospects aren't going to change if he plays at Illinois or GCU. He may not "fit the system" but he's one of the few guys over 6'9" on the roster right now.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Finke graduated in December, cut his hair as to look like a college graduate and is already enrolled at the UofI working towards his Masters degree? Is this fake news??
