I agree. They'll be looking for a guy with a record of success at the national level. Big names with deep tournament runs. That's not Underwood (yet). No way Underwood gets a look. Their fans could never see past his lack of Sweet 16s

NBA is not though. It will be a different story if he truly goes to Hollywood.I don’t know…LA and Hollywood seems to be slap-punch friendly
Juwan mentioned for Lakers job, too
Wait, are you a Lakers insider now, too? That rumor is legit. LeBron wants Juwan ... The front office wants Nick Nurse ...
Wonder who will win that one ...

But is it worse than JH girl drama?Haha, I wouldn't want to deal with dissecting that drama ... Worse than a bunch of HS girls.
I do know a few people on the Vogel staff though, and that's what they told me.
Also quite a few AAU coaches talking about it in Indy this past weekend ...
Are there any staffs you don’t have connections to?Haha, I wouldn't want to deal with dissecting that drama ... Worse than a bunch of HS girls.

Beilein is currently with the Detroit Pistons. Player Development. He is very happy.Beilein could have just about any CBB job he wants if he makes it known he's available. He may be content with retirement.
I would doubt it. Michigan can get a lot better name than Martelli. Guys like Oats and Musselman would be in play I'd think.Gotta figure it'd be Martelli's job if he wants it, no?
Are there any staffs you don’t have connections to?
Juwan might be better off in NBA. Quinn Snyder was mediocre at Missouri avg 18- 13 in 7 years.
Quinn has been very successful at Utah Jazz for past 7 years. After two sub 500 seasons he is typically around 50 wins which as a #3 seed in western conference.
I don't want Michigan to bring Beilein back. He was too good.
Oats (Alabama) or Musselman (Ark) would be a monster in Ann Arbor.
Agreed with others in that either Oats or Musselman at UM would be big troubleIf Michigan opens, Nate Oats will be one at the top of the list and he would be interested.
Would Muss go anywhere? He's building a powerhouse with what seems like unlimited NIL $$$Agreed with others in that either Oats or Musselman at UM would be big trouble
Muss be the money??? I'll see myself out nowWould Muss go anywhere? He's building a powerhouse with what seems like unlimited NIL $$$

2021-22 | $12.6M | |
2022-23 | $9.8M | |
2023-24 | $7M | |
2024-25 | $2.4M | |
2025-26 | $0 |
I always liked Martelli. Good coach, can spin a yarn better than most. I felt that, with his success at St. Joe's, he'd be a highly sought after coach for a P5 gig. And he'd do well at a bigger program. On the other hand Michigan alumni would probably have the pitchforks out if there was a bigger name out there for the taking and the AD didn't go after 'em.I would doubt it. Michigan can get a lot better name than Martelli. Guys like Oats and Musselman would be in play I'd think.
I feel like the hubris of the Michigan fan base will lead to their donors ponying up if askedDue to buyout costs, I suspect Oats is out until at least 2024. Mussleman is viable for 2022-23. Their current contracts are:
Nate Oats: 3.2M/yr, with a buyout of:
2021-22 $12.6M 2022-23 $9.8M 2023-24 $7M 2024-25 $2.4M 2025-26 $0
Musselman: 4M/yr with a buyout of:
2021-22 $7M
2022-23 $2M
2023-24 $1M
2024... $0.75M
Exception: If he goes to USD after April 2024, the buyout is 0.
No doubt. I hate them with the heat of a thousand suns, but Michigan is a template for how a top-ranked university can have excellent revenue sports. If Howard follows the money and sunshine, Michigan will come up with the funds for the person they want.I feel like the hubris of the Michigan fan base will lead to their donors ponying up if asked
Oats still hasn’t shown me enough personally but agree on muss. Guy is a complete animalJuwan might be better off in NBA. Quinn Snyder was mediocre at Missouri avg 18- 13 in 7 years.

I think Martelli would be an upgrade for Michigan coaching, unfortunately.Gotta figure it'd be Martelli's job if he wants it, no?
Martelli is an excellent x&o guy but not much on the recruiting trail.I think Martelli would be an upgrade for Michigan coaching, unfortunately.
