I don’t see Franz Wagner on either the NBA or G League combine lists. Did he withdraw from the draft or are my eyes just bad?

My understanding of the combine is it’s more for the guys hoping to move up, not the lottery guys. That may or may not be completely accurate.

Deron Williams opted out of the combine. Dee stayed in and broke his foot at the combine.

Was Dee projected to go high in the 05 draft?

My recollection: Most people were saying he should stay another year in college, that his stats were too reliant on how good his team was (he was playing with several other future pros, obviously) and that he needed to prove he was a pro level guy on his own, able to get his shot off, lead a team, etc.. The general sense was that he was a second-rounder, but might go undrafted because in addition, he was pretty under-sized for an NBA PG. So to directly answer your question, no he wasn't. It took a lot of people by surprise, including the staff, when he seemed intent on staying in the draft.

That’s how I remember it as well. And I think Dee was a little upset with Weber for telling him he should come back.

Same here. Dee was caught off guard, I think assuming Weber would help promote his bid once he made his decision. A lot of people believed at the time that if you wanted to attract good players, you need to give that kind of advice behind closed doors, but support them fully in public. We all know how the Weber era went, so no need to relitigate it. But suffice to say, it was one of the criticisms of Weber that got louder as time went on.

Yes, in accordance with the record declining.

Looks like they've made up.

Kofi ended up with 9 and 5 in about 10 minutes in first half. He was 1 of 3 from line when I was watching and also had ball stripped by a guard when he brought ball down. Overall looked pretty good. Did look like he had slimmed down some, though that might just be because I was watching on a smaller device.
