From my eye test His defense needs a lot of work, out of position a bit might be due to slow foot work then he’s over reliant on shot blocking to make up for that which is a recipe for cheap fouls.
He's an incoming freshman and will need some work and at least 30lbs of muscle. That said, I think he'll have better lateral movement and quicker recovery than Edey along with a more advanced shot for his age. Painter did a really good job with Edey in teaching him proper positioning, so I expect Jacobsen to get a lot better with positioning and technique over time. If he can put on the strength, Jacobsen is the type of kid who with properly coached defensive technique will be really scary in my opinion because he has the ceiling for the rest.

Really nice shooting day from Fears today. 12pts from him on I want to say 5 of 7 shooting, some steals. I'd say he's still really pushing it too much on offense trying to get his, but that seems to be what everyone on the team is doing as well. Hoping he gets good tick in the Finals.

The left handed running hook shot was amazing
It certainly was. That's definitely one of those that if you take in a B10 game, you better be making it, otherwise you're sitting on the bench for a while, lol. Crazy shot. But as I said, really nice game for him today. Morez was more up and down today but finished with some good numbers.

Speaking of the 7'7" Rioux, he looked unplayable in the college game. No offense, too slow on defense, terrible positioning. I guess the hope would be you could teach him those things, as he does have the body and size, but he is one deep deep project for Florida.
You know what they say…you can’t teach height he can always fill Lieb’s type role over there , and he probably doesn’t command that much NIL.

Teams:

USA started to look like a team today. They played a mostly switching defense out front. There were some possessions with 3+ passes.

Canada underwhelmed. No defense. No offense. No impressive players (other than Rioux' height.)

Refs:
This game was called much looser than any of the previous games. They still kept it under control. They allowed a little banging down low.

Canadian Players:

Rioux at 7'6" was able to play over everyone, including Jacobson. Unfortunately for Canada, he has no game. Slow. Gawky. No shot. No positioning. Worse yet, he showed frustration easily and acted like a bully. He committed several blatant pushing fouls in frustration (and was whistled for them).

No one else of note.

USA Players:

Morez got in fairly early and promptly committed two fouls. The second was just dumb. He committed several more dumb fouls during the game. He may have fouled out. While he was on the floor, he was pretty effective. A non-stop motor. Needs to stand straighter and reach less on defense.

Fears didn't get much tick until the 4th quarter, which he seemed to play in its entirety. He had a chip on his shoulder today. He hit almost every shot, got a few steals, and a few rebounds. He was lost on defense on several plays -- standing at the free throw line looking around.

Reid (#9) had a monster game. He played less than 1/2 the time and was everywhere. He was making shots left and right, and grabbing every loose ball.

Jacobson(#15) had another solid game. If he could learn some positioning, and to not turn sideways as he jumps, he'd do a lot better. I think the turning is because he is so dominantly right handed. Learn to use the left to block as well.

Brown did better today. I'm still not sold on Acuff.

Ament (#10) was terrible in all dimensions. Poor play, and terrible team mate. No defense. Every shot is a good shot. Even from 27'. He didn't get much tick until late, and I'd have sat his !!! back down in a hurry.

John Groce recruited Kendrick Nunn and Malcolm Hill, both of whom saw the floor in the NBA. He also landed Trent Frazier, Damonte Williams, Jalen Coleman Lands, Leron Black. Groce brought us some players, his problem was A) he's a very mediocre coach and B) he couldn't land a legit PG to save his life.

Jacobson needs to work on his strength and conditioning (what young big doesn’t?) but he looks really good. Don’t think he will ever become the physical force Edey was but I think he moves better. Going to be a problem the next 3-4 years.
