I'm too lazy to look back on this thread, but I am looking forward to Captain America: Civil War. Hurry up, May 6.

Busy few weeks on my end, but I'm hoping to catch "Keanu," "Captain America: Civil War," and "Money Monster" by next Friday.

Hold me accountable for my reviews!

Going to see Civil War at 11 tonight, I'm usually going to bed by then so hope there's plenty of action to help with awakeness. The theater I usually go to recently renovated so every seat is a wide leather recliner, which is awesome!

Really enjoyed the new Captain America last night. Good complex storyline, right balance between action, comic relief, and plot/character development. Definitely enjoyed it more than I did Age of Ultron last year.

Did not enjoy getting up this morning after getting home at 2:30 AM, but that's not the movie's fault :coffee:

I enjoyed this for those reasons as well. Just got home from the first viewing this morning. Super Heroes galore in this one! I had a single beef with this movie, and it's minor really, which is Black Panthers uniform. The body portion was good, but the head covering looked too helmet-y. I didn't remember it being that way when I read the comics, oh so many years ago.

I'm not a comic book reader but I've seen most of the Marvel movies the last few years. The intra-Avenger melee at the airport was especially rewarding for someone who's got at least that much investment in the series.

For those of you that have seen it, I've heard some say they liked Winter Soldier better than this. Would you agree?

I did see someone online comment that this may be his favorite Marvel movie, even ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy.

It was good, but I wouldn't say that.

I read someone who described it well as not the best movie made in the Marvel series, but the best Marvel movie of the series (i.e., the best for people who are existing fans of the movies & comic books)

Finally finished a full review for Captain America: Civil War and a brief review of Keanu. (Linked below)

https://doublefeaturefilmreviews.wordpress.com/2016/05/11/keanu-2016/

Tonight I'll be seeing Richard Linklater's latest, Everybody Wants Some!!, followed by Jodie Foster's Money Monster. Excited for the former, hesitant about the latter.

Two more reviews!

Everybody Wants Some!! and Money Monster:

https://doublefeaturefilmreviews.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/money-monster-2016/

TL;DR:
Linklater captures yet again the beauty of interpersonal relationships (one of the my favorites from a slow 2016) and Money Monster tries to send a serious message but does not succeed.

Has anybody else seen Green Room? It's in theaters now. Got out of it earlier tonight and thought it was great. Not quite as solid as the director Jeremy Saulnier's previous Blue Ruin (which was on Netflix US until a while back). Highly recommended for those looking for a legitimate thriller.

I'll do a full write-up soon, but I'll give it a solid 3.5/4.

I haven't even heard of Green Room. I'll have to check that one out. I did watch Blue Ruin and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm going to try and see X-Men Apocalypse tomorrow. The early reviews aren't all that great but this is the type of movie I have to see on a big screen.

X-Men Apocalypse was pretty good. I enjoyed it. Don't know the back story of a few of the characters and how true the movie was to them, I'm sure there were tweaks as always. It was entertaining and I don't quite get some of the reviews. If you are into the Super Hero genre then you'll enjoy it for sure, probably even if you aren't. 7.5/10. I was trying to think of who Quicksilver reminded me of and it hit me on the way home, Garth from Waynes World. ;)

Other than Deadpool, for some reason I've never been able to get into the X-Men universe. I might give it another try sometime soon. Given the cast, I should be a fan!

Not that I had terribly high hopes for it, but the new Lonely Island movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is terrible. Worst movie I've seen since 50 Shades of Grey.

Did you like their SNL Digital Shorts or is it just not your style?

I'm a fan of The Lonely Island, I just thought this movie didn't offer much outside of a handful of decent laughs.

The biggest thing I'll take away from Popstar was the celebrity cameos, which I feel says a lot about the quality of the movie itself. Other than it making a mockery of the present-focused pop culture-obsessed world of today, there wasn't much of anything there.
