I feel like we're VERY close to a lock for a #1 seed, but the one scenario that would make me uncertain is if Iowa wins the BTT. Especially if that includes a win over us.

Iowa has two very bad losses on their resume to Indiana , don`t even think it`s close that Iowa catches Illinois for a #1 seed.I feel like we're VERY close to a lock for a #1 seed, but the one scenario that would make me uncertain is if Iowa wins the BTT. Especially if that includes a win over us.
Eeyore82 is just looking for reasons to be unhappy at this point.lol we'll see who's wrong. Yea the BIG 12 is gonna get 2 number 1 seeds. hahaha. Oh and they are gonna give OSU a number 1 seed when they finish 5th in the big 10.
Yup, three straight road wins against #2, #7, and #25 to close out the toughest conference schedule in 30+ years solidified our spot.don’t matter. We are locked in
I want Michigan to win , only because I don`t want Michigan State to get in the dance, unless the only way of them getting in , is they must win the Big Ten Tourney is their only way of making the Dance, lose tomorrow I think they have to win the BIG tourney.. JMO (hope I'm correct) see what the committee thinks is "the all , that ends all"If Michigan losses tomorrow and doesn’t win the BTT - we would likely move up to the #3 overall seed. Stacking us up against each other and the head to head win should be enough to put us above them- it doesn’t matter very much but likely means we get Houston as the 2 seed in our bracket vs Alabama
the way we’re playing it shouldn’t make a difference but Houston is likely an easier game

I wish I could go head to head against these geniuses, Jerry Palm and Gary Parrish. Uh oh. They work for CBS. Could be a challenge. I might have to be awake.I mean, you're wrong, but by all means, stand on your soap box. Jerry Palm literally said OSU will move up to the 1 line if they beat us today.
And this is from Gary Parrish:
But the fourth No. 1 seed remains very much up for grabs. Right now, I think, it belongs to Illinois. But Alabama, Iowa, West Virginia and Ohio State are serious contenders. If any of them were to win-out, they'd have a legitimate claim to a No. 1 seed.

They are way off as mentioned earlier. Even if we lost no way WV, Alabama, or OSU gets on the 1 line. It is completely stupid to even say so.They said IF Illinois lost today. They weren't wrong. Then Illinois went out and won.
Methinks they may play into a 3 seedOklahoma State is playing well. Would rather not have them as the 4 seed in our bracket
Well, perhaps we don't need to think too much about the #2 seed too early. #1 seed meets #2 seed in Elite Eight are not as common as one might expectIf Michigan losses tomorrow and doesn’t win the BTT - we would likely move up to the #3 overall seed. Exactly. Also, our schedule had us playing a lot of the bottom of the standing teams twice and the more "elite" teams once.Well, a lot of the harder schedules are of lesser Big Ten teams. So think about it this way... Illinois and Northwestern have identical schedules, but the only difference is Northwestern played Illinois and Illinois played Northwestern, Northwestern will have a harder schedule. Northwestern, Penn State, Nebraska, Indiana, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Maryland are all ahead of Illinois.
I still remember losing at Kentucky in 84 and it makes me angry. Then there was 2001.I agree with you, if we're playing well, we can beat anyone. But I have a different take on the seeding. I think it's critical we get a 1 seed - given we avoid Baylor and Gonzaga's bracket (if we are a 2 seed we will be in one of their brackets if UM and OSU are the other 1's). Our odds of reaching the final four are about 2x if we don't have to go through one of those two teams - we are capable of beating them, but they will be a much tougher opponent than any of the 2 seeds. Getting to a Final Four would be huge for the program. National exposure, reputation, recruiting, reward for the players - all of that makes a huge difference if you make the final four or not - nobody remembers who lost in the elite 8
Does ok state play in tournament this year? I thought they were banned because of Lamont Evans scandal
Also, if both Wisconsin and Maryland win; Rutgers still gets the 7 seed. With 4 games left on today's B1G schedule, there are seeding changes for the BTT that will be affected by the results of 3 of the games. Here are the potential seeding changes that could happen:
-Iowa/Wisconsin: Wisconsin wins, Purdue is the 3 seed, Iowa is the 4 seed; Iowa wins, Iowa is the 3 seed, Purdue is the 4 seed
-Penn State/Maryland: Penn State wins, Rutgers is the 7 seed, Maryland is the 8 seed; Maryland wins, Maryland is the 7 seed, Rutgers is the 8 seed
-Northwestern/Nebraska; Nebraska wins, Minnesota is the 12 seed, Northwestern is the 13 seed; Northwestern wins, Northwestern is the 12 seed, Minnesota is the 13 seed.
Michigan State/Michigan is the only game today where BTT seeding can in no way be impacted.
so pretty much
us
gonzaga
baylor
are all locks for #1 seed
is michigan a lock if they lose today and lose next Friday or next Saturday ?
