Not true-if Nebraska loses tonight, we clinch a double byeYet, if we lose the next 3 (all really tough games) we're likely a 5 seed in the BTT.

Do you have a linked source to that somewhere? I know that the TOP overall seed can submit a preference list (per old SI article) but I was not aware that the committee considers anyone's preferences except for the top seed.Very helpful - just know they don’t pick by pure mileage. The seeded teams send a preference list that then is utilized. So if location 2 is 100 miles away further but has a lot more alumni and better flights, they may pick a further location.

This guy claims it IS just looking at mileage and links to a chart that is much better than my dinky little spreadsheet.
Maybe you are right and I extrapolated their thoughts on the top seed.Do you have a linked source to that somewhere? I know that the TOP overall seed can submit a preference list (per old SI article) but I was not aware that the committee considers anyone's preferences except for the top seed.

Well if Nebraska loses tonight and still wins their last 2, MSU wins out, and Illinois loses out, then we will be a 5 seed. Not true-if Nebraska loses tonight, we clinch a double bye
No problem, I work at the same company as Fighter of the NightmanNice find, thanks for sharing the link. And appreciate your work on the chart too! I used to put together those BTT seeding charts until I realized someone else (Torvik) has something similar (except better and more frequently updated) out there
If we lose the next 3 in a row, I won’t really care about the double bye - that’ll mean major problemsWell if Nebraska loses tonight and still wins their last 2, MSU wins out, and Illinois loses out, then we will be a 5 seed.

Well we aren't going to lose out and MSU ain't winning out (as much as I would like them to beat Purdue, Edey is going to have 50)Well if Nebraska loses tonight and still wins their last 2, MSU wins out, and Illinois loses out, then we will be a 5 seed.

FTFYBring 'Em On: All comers.
Agreed. Still hundreds of potential outcomes! Also thinking that we just may go 2-1 in these final 3 games. Not true-if Nebraska loses tonight, we clinch a double bye
I think Illinois is pretty clearly the second best team in the conference.Serious note: I think there has been just one B1G game that Illinois just didn't look like it had an answer all night, and that was at Purdue without TJ. They had the games @NW, @MSU, and @PSU won, and the Maryland game was a level of effort they can't expect to bring to any game and still should have won it. Anybody else, they've outplayed them at their place, or they outplayed them at home during the biggest of offensive outliers in their program's history.
I think, correct me if I am wrong, since Nebby lost tonight that gives them 8 losses. If we were tied with them for 4th in the league we would get the seed based on head to head?Yet, if we lose the next 3 (all really tough games) we're likely a 5 seed in the BTT.
So MSU at Purdue we want Purdue then we are a lock for the 4?Well if Nebraska loses tonight and still wins their last 2, MSU wins out, and Illinois loses out, then we will be a 5 seed.

We would want Purdue to lose another game besides @ Illinois for a chance at the championship. We aren't gonna lose out and we control our destiny for a 2 seed, so for all intents and purposes we are guaranteed a double bye.So MSU at Purdue we want Purdue then we are a lock for the 4?
As long as Purdue doesn't clinch on our home floor...I'm good with whatever. So MSU at Purdue we want Purdue then we are a lock for the 4?
