Chicago Bears 2016-2017 Season

Yea having a real quarterback would be nice but I would agree on taking the best player. However I would certainly take the QB from Louisville or Clemson if they were available in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. However with Pace and Fox I am not going to hold my breath.

Watson (Clemson) has the tools but he has been lackluster all season. He was expected to be in the Heisman race and he isn't even in the conversation. Jackson (Louisville) is only a sophomore so he has to stay in college for at least another year.

A coaching change is not what we need. We need NFL level starters on the o line and our guys to stay healthy.

Mike Bellamy has to have the worst hands of any wide receiver in the history of football. And also thank you again, Jeff Triplette, for another horribly officiated game. Once again you have the worst officiating crew in the league.

Still holding strong for a top 4 pick!

And still playing hard which is nice to see. IMO shows that the players want to play for Fox. Look at the Rams, Jets, Browns, etc....could be a lot worse. Draft well and make a couple good free agent moves and we could be at the top of the NFC North in 2 years.

Floyd and especially Kwitkowski really impressed me during today's game. Couple those two with Jordan Howard and it looks like 3 of the Bears picks from this year's draft could end up being pretty big contributors for this team going forward.

Oha, and I also had a friend online earlier today try to argue that the Bears got screwed by the refs at the end of the game with the non-call on the possible PI on Thompson. My argument was that if they don't get those two holding calls on the offense earlier in that drive then that possible Thompson PI likely doesn't happen as the Bears play calling would have likely changed in that situation. I also argued that that call at the end of the game wasn't as big of a reason as the 3 PIs by the Bears defense in that game had a bigger impact on the end result of that game.

And how about the Rams announcing last week that they had signed Fisher to an extension earlier in the season--Yuck

Cody Whitehair is going to be a big piece going forward also. Also they are high on Deiondre' Hall at corner.

I am happily admitting I was wrong about Floyd. Kid can get after the quarterback. I really hope he can get a couple more years grooming under Fangio despite the rumors.

Looks like this Sunday's game has the potential to be the coldest game in Soldier Field history. If the actual air temp falls below 2 degrees above zero, it will break a record held by the 2008 Bears-Packers game (Dec. 22, 2008) and the Bears-Packers game in 1983 (Dec. 22, 1983). Current forecast for Sunday has the high at -1.

Actually saw someone online selling tickets to the game and it looked to be a pretty good deal considering where the seats were, especially for Bears-Packers, but there's NO WAY I'd go with the temperature that cold.

Call me crazy...but me and my Packer buddy are looking at tickets, hoping to find a good deal. Hey, not everyone can say they were at the coldest Bears game ever!

Another year without a pro bowl player on the Bears. Revealing of the talent deficit on the roster.

Their best player, Kyle Long, who'd made the Pro Bowl each of the last three years only played 8 games due to injury.

The Bears' other three past Bro Bowlers - Jeffrey, Cutler and Sitton - all missed time due to injury or suspension, too. It's actually pretty amazing how every single significant player on offense has missed a good chunk of the season.

Long was not a first choice Pro-Bowler last year. He was added as a replacement. I don't think Cutler has been to the Pro-Bowl since he played for the Broncos. Jeffrey was named as an alternate once and started the game because of an injury. Sitton never played at a Pro-Bowl level this year. I'm not sure what your point is.

Schefter reporting the Patriots asking for a 1st and a 4th for Jimmy G, if it is a future first even next years I am doing that deal in my sleep.

Living in Boston I've seen a bit of Jimmy. I'm not sure he's worth it. He may be, but I have not seen anything definitive either way. I'm not sure I'd give up a 1 with all the holes the Bears have to fill.

Agreed. Jimmy G has looked solid, but what happened to Osweiler scares me. And all Houston lost on that bust was money, not draft picks. I would rather build a strong defense and running game so an average or below average QB can look good (like Osweiler/Peyton and the Broncos last year).

And mercifully the season is over. This year's Bear's season was akin to being repeatedly hit in the head over and over again with a hammer. It hurts like hell when it is going on but it feels so good when it stops.
