I hope the Indians simultaneously feel better about 2016 and...never ever forget that 2016 happened. Because it did! Handing over the legacy of longest streak without a championship is the ultimate, "Tag, you're it!"
I don't care of the cubs win another game this season. And I've got my fingers crossed that things get bad enough that we sign Pujols.
How much longer is Trevor Williams in the starting rotation? I think it speaks volumes when Ross takes him out after 2 innings (42 pitches) and brings in Mills. Mills didn't do great either but I think he takes Williams spot for now unless Jed vetoes the move because it makes him look bad.
and the best free agent signing in the history of the franchise.Just a reminder…
Jon Lester with the Cubs, 6 seasons, 77-44, 3.64 ERA (exact same winning percentage and ERA with the Cubs as he had with the Red Sox), 2 All Stars, Cy Young runner up, 2.44 post-season ERA in 70 post-season innings, 2016 NLCS co-MVP, World Series ring.
Top three. You can make arguments for Andre Dawson and Ryan Dempster, especially in Dempster's case if you factor in that in addition to playing for the team for 9 years, he was eventually traded for Kyle Hendricks. Lester, Dawson and Dempster are 1a, 1b and 1c. Ted Lilly is a solid #4 and then there's a huge drop off to whomever #5 is.and the best free agent signing in the history of the franchise.
Dawson is a close #2, but I don't think Dempster is close to either of those two. Lester gets the big time bump for winning a ring and being one the best post season pitchers of all time.Top three. Once again, it's pretty obvious that Ross doesn't trust Williams. And 37 innings pitched in his 9 starts is not going to help the bullpen arms.
An all time Cubs legend. Pat and Ron were talking about it the other night.Just a reminder…
