Normally, I would agree but I wonder if UM will give Howard one more year based on a few factors.
You might be right. I was surprised they didn't fire him for cause earlier when they had the opening. Not sure where the support is coming from given the downward trajectory. I know he's been pretty good recruiting, but that's trailed off as well.

Kick rocks? As in someone on our staff? I would certainly hope that would NOT be Chester and I of course give Brad the benefit of the doubt that he is smarter than that.

There will likely be some transition on staff no matter what happens ...

Now - If Antigua or Mike is available ... Brad will need an open recruiting assistant spot ... He'll make room ... If ya catch my drift ...

Door 1: “Promote” Geoff to a non-recruiting role so he can focus on game planning and better prepare himself for being a head coach

Door 2: try to find him a landing spot on somebody else’s staff or lower tier college head coaching job

Door 3:

Even if he does, his buyout is currently $20 million and only goes down to $16 million on April 1. Even with how deep Ohio State's pockets are, I can't imagine them paying that plus whatever they have left to pay Holtmann.
I know what you're sayin', but "college" FB and BB are in crazy world now. I could totally imagine tOSU spending $XXmillion on a new coach. In fact, it's not that hard for me to imagine pretty much any big school nowadays spending $XX million on just about anything. I mean, $20M for OSU basketball is sorta, kinda like $76M for Texas A&M football?

And, honest question, who are they/them in cases like this? We talk about how deep OSU's pockets are, but doesn't that just mean there are some filthy wealthy alums who can sell one of their Gulfstreams to buy the next hoops-God coach?
