Hurley is a Northeast guy. Grew up in Jersey, played college ball in Jersey, coached in Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. I'm thinking he's not leaving that neck of the woods, unless the money is huge, or the NBA calls. And in that neck of the woods, UConn is king. Syracuse used to be up there, but they held onto Boeheim too long and really weekend their brand.
I’m not even sure that he’d take a NBA job that isn’t on the East Coast.

I’m curious to learn if the Nets are reaching out to him. I could see that if Hurley decides to make a jump.

I've always thought that too. I was always , and still am, kind of confused when his brother left Buffalo for ASU. At the time, I questioned the move with his ties in the northeast.

why do people ALWAYS assume coaches want to go back to a state they were born in or raised in or once coached in ?

seriously, I really don't think that its true most of the time
Um. Emotional ties, family, etc. there are a ton of reasons.

Why did Roy Williams leave Kansas for UNC or any other college coach leave to go back to a university they have ties to.

My predictions on the B1G coaching carousel:

THEEEEEE OSU: McDermott (He really wanted the Illini gig years ago from what I recall.)

Indiana: Dusty May (I don't think they go for any older coaches this time around, and I'm not sure they'd hire Archie's brother. They'll also get turned down by some big-timers.)

Michigan: Nate Oats (unfortunately)

That's when things get interesting. Who gets the 'Bama job? What other jobs will open up in the near future?

My predictions so far:

Ohio State: Greg McDermott

Indiana: Dusty May

Michigan: Wes Miller

Memphis: Will Wade

Vanderbilt: Chris Mack

Louisville: Lamont Paris

Washington: Mark Pope

Oklahoma State: Darrian Devries

Stanford: Joe Pasternack

Oregon State: Danny Sprinkle

Arizona State: Eric Musselman

DePaul: Bobby Hurley

Who would Arkansas be after if Muss leaves?

@Indy Illini Fan must be at Sean's house "celebrating"?😎

I won't get into specific details but it is going to have to be the absolute right fit for him to leave Xavier ...

OSU has work to do if they want to really get Sean interested ...

Chris Beard or Jerome Tang I would say would be the two favorites. Agree on Forbes as well

If Del Conte pulls the plug on Terry after 1 year (which is on the table) ... I think Tang to Texas is almost nearly a lock ...

I don't know if Tang would leave K State for Arkansas ... But he might ... More of a lateral move than what it looks like on paper ...

99.9% chance Brad does not leave
Agree Brad doesn’t leave. Do you think he will have his agent get a feel of who is interested again?

If so does JW have a short list of coaches he would want if that .1% comes true? Or does JW know Brad isn’t leaving and not really concerned

Just will get a feel for whether Brad asks him to or not ... That's just how it always goes with him ...

Yes ... Josh does have a short list ... Always has and always will ...

And I'd be willing to bet significant coins it would not get past #1 if we went into search mode ...

Is IU gonna fire Woodson because they're scared of May getting away? It'd be kinda crazy if he got less rope than Archie considering he's an alum and he's accomplished more, even if I think it'd be the right call.
