Coach Green?Did anyone ask BU about the Kentucky job last night at the bar where he was at with Coach Green?
This just seems like too good of a fit for it not to happen. Pearl and UK would be perfect for each other.I've continued to think about that from our convo ... And the name that keeps coming to mind ...
i liked and agree and ignored him. i love his sarcasm. But we could schedule Kentucky every year and run up our streak of losses for Juwan.
His dad doesn't have him sitting next to him every game for emotional support.1. Naming Tyler Head Coach in Waiting?!? HAHAHAHA
2. Hypothetically what if we had to name all the Pizza Hut parking lots in Champaign-Urbana after Brad, would you do it?
I am a hell no on #1. Funniest thing in this thread.
I am a hell yes on #2.
The women’s basketball coachCoach Green?
ope. was trying to think of men's coaches at other schools. The women’s basketball coach
I think Steward, Buzelis & Christie are the only top 30 that have gotten away period. And has he missed on an in state kid that we just had to have ? You could argue Liddell maybe ... Other than that ?
He got Ayo, Ace, Morez ... We had Jeremy Fears and chose to pass ... We're getting Jeremiah ...
When is the last time IU (who considers themselves a blue blood) did that ... Shoot Arch got Romeo but outside of him when is the last time they even got the best player in their state to stay home ???
What Brad has done in state is pretty remarkable ...
We have a women’s team?The women’s basketball coach
Knowing Cal he's using this time to recruit his class to Arkansas like he did to Memphis.
Sure, your dad is respected. But his record is not yet elite. UK nation will only accept elite.Underwood is highly respected in the coaching world....more so than the fans seem to think.
It would be so much easier if targets of my hate consolidated like thisI've continued to think about that from our convo ... And the name that keeps coming to mind ...
Provo, Spain?I don't think he's high on their list, but he played for them in the mid-90's, he was built by them. If he has an edge, it would make sense for him to mothball that edge while he's in Provo.
Yeah, … state employees, and all …This is a difficult and problematic question, and that is exactly why the best practice is to not allow the situation to develop in the first place.
It's common in college sports, it isn't just us. But if I were running the DIA there would be a simple, clean, no-exceptions anti nepotism policy.
You just described Brad lolUK is done with the MFer-type, the general consensus of their fanbase is they want someone who can build a program. And yes, I wrote that about UK.
I know that sounds odd to say about UK, but they got so far away from being Kentucky basketball with Cal that they want someone who can bring them back to the ethos of who they are. Albeit building a program differently, using the portal, and a school-first program-centric mentality.
They basically are looking for the men's basketball equivalent of Matthew Mitchell, who is still loved around here and flew under the radar due to the Cal smugness on campus and within the athletic department. For those who do not have to live in BBN, which for the past 15 years has been brutal being an Illini, Mitchell built that program, sustained it, and was able to "exit well and be able to say we left it in a really good spot for the people that came behind us."
That bolded quote was spoken by Barnhart from the very cringe meeting that was broadcast just days before Cal being tied to Arkansas, and it speaks volumes of who Barnhart and UK will target and eventually want to lead the severely eroded UK men's basketball program.
ExactlyYou just described Brad lol
He has him sitting next to him because he is his son.His dad doesn't have him sitting next to him every game for emotional support.
He is an assistant. He’s just not a full time recruiting assistant, although by the sound of it he did take a few recruiting trips last year while one of the other coaches remained on campus. He has him sitting next to him because he is his son.
And I am fine with that.
But Head Coach in Waiting? at Illinois? He is not even an assistant. How old is he?
I know it was asked as a hypothetical, I just found that funny to even consider... at a program like Illinois.
