I can't lie, I take an extremely dim view of coaches who don't "like" coaching in the current college football landscape.

Like !!!! very underwhelmingHow am i supposed to feel?![]()
It was a 3-4 baseWe were essentially a 5 man front for years.
Nose, two tackles, two OLB(edges).
You’ll most likely see a Tackle and two ends now.
He’s going to bring over his 3-3-5 defenseSo, he is going to deliver a new fangled defensive scheme based upon cutting edge NFL tendencies?
Your thoughts on this hire?Bret doesn’t have his coordinators do a lot of recruiting anyway
His scheme? My brother. He’s never called defensive plays. lolHe’s going to bring over his 3-3-5 defense
So, he is going to deliver a new fangled defensive scheme based upon cutting edge NFL tendencies?
Yes in the sense of being a weird fit with no apparent ties to Bielema.this hire gives me Tony Peterson vibes
Yes in the sense of being a weird fit with no apparent ties to Bielema.
But the problem with Tony Petersen is that he had lots of immediate FBS experience as an OC, and it was very underwhelming. So it was like, uh oh, there are pretty serious doubts about the exact thing we're having him do.
Hauck has been one of the best FCS coaches for years, but what does that have to do with being Illinois' defensive coordinator, a position he's never held anywhere?
Is this very similar to the system Partridge would’ve brought in? If so, that’s cool…just want to reconcile the decision with Bret’s press conference around the type of new system that he’d be learning too. He’s going to bring over his 3-3-5 defense
BB deserves my trust on this one, but my goodness, this is definitely not an inspiring read.![]()
Montana's Hauck says he's retiring because he doesn't like dealing with the changes in college game
Montana football coach Bobby Hauck has announced his retirement effective immediately. The Big Sky Conference's all-time wins leader said he doesn't enjoy his job anymore because of the direction college football has taken in recent years.apnews.com
A very successful head coach who has taught this scheme to players and coaches for years. He gets a significant raise without the headaches of recruiting as a HC. You’ll see a much different style of defense next year.(I’m trying to figure out if he called the defense when he became a HC or not) but overall I think it’s a solid hire.Your thoughts on this hire?
Totally get there’s nothing Brett can do about a guy backing out but this looks like a bit of a mess. I thought it was implied that we were switching to Seattle’s scheme. Can confirm … Partidge backed out on the deal … I won’t go into any further details other than saying … A man’s word is supposed to mean something … And it just doesn’t mean what it used to anymore …
Charlie has also told Bret he’s staying in the NFL whether that be as DC or taking spot on Harbaugh staff …
