Happy for him and wish him the best. Also glad he won't be recruiting for Indiana

So with Georgetown, I think Ewing is certainly an upgrade over JTIII, but it really just seems like it will be more of the same. I guess they really couldn't get anyone better, but that's Georgetown's fault for keeping JTJr. effectively in charge. I guess they are going to have to wait for the legend to pass on, and then maybe they can lure in a big name that can restore the program to its former glory. I will be rooting for Ewing and the Hoyas though.

As for Groce, it will be interesting to see if he can have a good relationship with LeBron and if that helps his recruiting.

Really happy for coach Groce!

John Groce as a man would give you the shirt off his back and I wish him all the best at Akron.

Let's put the Zips on the schedule now that would be interesting.

Are there any contract details on Groce? I think his buyout here is offset by his new salary.

Akron, the rubber capital, so there should be an explosion of rubber TNT bracelets. Is Werner ladder company HQ'ed there?

My sources tell me Groce will be paid in shares of Werner Ladder Co. Bonuses include free additional footage on all newly purchased ladders by Groce.

Much like most of the other posters here, I am glad for Groce. And glad he won't be recruiting against us.

Good for Groce. Glad he got a gig, but if he were fired here, would what would he be bring to Akron?
I think a little bit like Weber, the pressure of the big-time job may have gotten to him. Once he's in a lower-pressure environment where the expectations aren't in the stratosphere, he may be able to relax and just do a good job.

KSU is a lot more high pressure than Akron, and I am not sure Weber is much relaxed, especially with Frank Martin making the Final Four. :)

Well, no, I wouldn't say that Weber is now relaxed. Rather, I'm making the observation that both coaches may have stiffened in the limelight, something that continues to happen to Weber. I think it's a chronic, incurable thing for him.

Groce, however, is a young pup. He's got time to improve his coaching chops and make another go of it. Kinda like that Alford guy.

Congrats to Akron. You just landed a class act.

Happy for John. They surely couldn't have hired a harder worker and better man. I think he'll do very well. I honestly wanted him to get a year with this class, but all in all, I think things worked out best for all concerned.

I hope Akron is ready for all the TNT that's coming their way.

Does this also save us money on his buyout?

One of Groce's biggest problems here was that he was just plain unlucky. I think he handled the pressure pretty well considering. Wish him success in his new gig.

How he ever got this job has always been a source of bewilderment to me.

I have only seen the preview clip on Twitter. It seems like he agreed to be interviewed for this show? I wonder why (not that I condone his actions at Baylor).
