"Hey, if he can't succeed in the SEC at TXAM, surely he can succeed in the SEC at TN... right guys?"
Currie. LOL.

TN should go after Neal Brown of Troy. Up and coming coach, was OC in SEC with Kentucky, and Troy beat LSU this year, which TN didn't do -- and TN had them at home.
Debated going with Bozo, Krusty or Baskets, but Shakes just seemed "right". Glad I'm not just amusing myself all the time.
The four best hires in the SEC this decade had a combined two years of NCAA head coaching experience between them.

Both with one year (back-to-back) at Arkansas State, the Tulsa basketball of college football coaches. Speaking of which, why in the world hasn't Bryan Harsin's name come up for any of these jobs? I'm sure it has, but I'm surprised that so many other guys seem to be ahead in the pecking order.
If someone nabs Taggart away from the Ducks, there's your guy. EDIT: I didn't realize Harsin was a Boise guy. Born, raised and played. That might be trickier than I thought.
I hope you're referring to the movie. If not....seek it out. It's bizarre, offensive, and oddly entertaining and satisfying. But that probably says more about me than I'd like.
The thing that surprises me most about the UT coaching search is just how public it's been. Granted they're gonna get a lot more attention cuz they're an SEC school and the Schiano fiasco, but man, we're getting the full play by play - Currie seems to be doing nothing (or is unable to do anything) to keep things under wraps.
In the latest news, they're talking to Mike Leach.
The only thing I want to get out of this carousel is to see Currie fired. I'll never forgive him for what he did to K-State fans.
You know what would be just amazing - bring Fulmer in as AD...Fulmer goes out for a coaching search...hires Schiano, UT fans celebrate with joy on the great hire. :clappy:
You left out Chuckles.

Just filed to ESPN: Tennessee has parted ways with AD John Currie on the heels of what has been a disastrous Tennessee coaching search. He met with university officials on Friday morning, and the decision was made then.

Sources: John Currie was prepared to hire Mike Leach but university officials wouldn’t allow him to do so. Phillip Fulmer has been sabotaging search process in hopes to become Tennessee’s AD

Another source: Tennessee’s own people have been ambushing (John) Currie’s (coaching search). They shoot themselves in the foot, !!!! the gun & shoot themselves in the other foot. It’s been going on for a week"
Neal Brown, Mike Norvell, Chad Morris, Seth Littrell, there are a number of really promising offensive-minded young coaches ready to move up. All of those guys are better fits for Tennessee than Dave Doeren, Greg Schiano, David Cutcliffe or god help us Les Miles.
But the narratives of the coaching carousel have become so insane that anything but overpaying for a known name is an existential crisis for a program. And when you're Tennessee and you miss out on the couple of big fish in an overcrowded marketplace, that means willfully humiliating yourself for weeks in search of mediocre coaches who aren't great fits.
The four best hires in the SEC this decade had a combined two years of NCAA head coaching experience between them (Franklin at Vandy, Freeze at Ole Miss, Malzahn at Auburn and Smart at UGA). There's a lesson to be learned there.
