Can't argue that. He may be the best recruiter in the country. I really hope we don't lose him. Too much momentum going with Storr and Bass blowing up. They do seem 1 step ahead of the pack on the studs outside of the obvious players(top 10).
I keep hearing this but if he’s truly the best in the country then we really suck as a destination and it’s time we as a fan base accept that. We have improved our recruiting and made respectable showings in overall class ranking. But come on.

This logic baffles me...

In the 4 years Underwood's staff has been here, we've landed 4 top 50 guys. That's pretty good. I don't know what about that says we "suck as a destination".

If you're expecting top 10 guys every year from a program that was just irrelevant, I don't know what to tell you.

Actually, either way, I don’t. Carry on.

The reason why we lost, that game... we did not play going down hill./rebounds (collectively Ayo,Trent and others did not stay home and allowed for LOYOLA to win most of the 50/50 balls). Brad Underwood and staff really hurt themselves by not pressuring full-court, you make it more up and down and it allows your defense to gather what angles to attack krutwig, we never ever should have played man to man throughout the game. WHY? Kofi guards krutwig 4 to8 feet Everytime down? No resistance on his jumpshot or even a pass? Bad coaching...... why, if we was not going to play Coleman Hawkins- and Damonte wasn't given the opportunity to really be a factor offensively, why didn't we run a 1-3-1 zone? If you knew that Kofi was a tough matchup..... again why not run a zone, like OREGON STATE DID. I am not sure if this is something that's going on in the discussions and negotiations between.... The AD, COACH UNDERWOOD & his assistants but Underwood needs to trust in his assistants in game play strategies as well as recruiting. I still have faith in coach Underwood but what was successful at Stephen f. Austin/ Oklahoma State will not work in a great conference with 5 star talents at almost every position and a world is the ELITE because they recruit, react, adjust, and don't accept the status quo. But become good at what got you their and never give an inch to your enemies, in fact..... EAT EM UP FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER.... no way I am letting them (kenbucky) fix my food---they didn't ask what I wanted and indeed they didn't BUY IT.

Last season's team had:

the best point guard in the country + 1st team All-American + All B1G 1st team,

along with a 2nd team All-American + All B1G 1st team + 2020 B1G FOY,

along with the 2021 B1G 6MOY (as a freshman)

.....not to mention the other top 50 freshman (yes,I know he's transferring but still)

Obviously we are not KU, UK, or Duke reeling in classes of multiple 5* year in and year out, but if the above isn't elite recruiting....it's at least an extremely high level and better than 80% of the rest of CBB. And Antigua has been a major, major part of that.

You wanna date the hot, smart girl with an awesome personality? Or settle for the girl who no one wants but you know couldn't do better than you?

C'mon man.
Nope, but are you gonna wait till 1700 on prom night for her to make a choice on her prom date?

UK insiders/radio guys were saying it was a done deal a week ago and an announcement was imminent. Logic would also tells us the longer it goes on, the better it looks for us.

FWIW, they have said this before and had a hiccup, only to eventually win a recruitment. Sometimes deals get held up for various reasons. Doesn't mean they fall apart. OA is probably smart enough to use this opportunity to find out what he's worth. It's rare to get into a bidding war, and he shouldn't blink until both sides have had a chance to bid up his services. Then he can decide how much the non-compensation stuff matters to him and pick the package he likes most. Hope it's Illinois, but Kentucky has some seriously deep pockets.

If you are interpreting my post as in any way shape or form saying they don’t do a great job and I’m not very happy with their recruiting, then your reading comprehension skills are worse than my SAT score on that skill a million years ago. That is categorically not what I said. I said if this is truly the “best recruiter in the country” and we get this level of recruiting class - which is absolutely great by IL standards - then it’s time the fan base accepts that we must not be a great destination for recruits.

Let me be more direct so no one is misunderstanding again: I believe that if even “the best recruiter in the country” can only get us 4 top 50 recruits in 4 years, we’re a pretty middle of the road destination and it’s time we accept that.

"The best recruiter in the country" helps us get two All-Americans and two of the best players we've had in 16 years and you're reaction is that "we are not a great destination for recruits"......? 🥴🥴🥴

You win. Reading skills notwithstanding.

Im uninterested in continuing a discussion/argument that is incapable of remaining objective.

Get your point...but I'm not willing to accept middle of road...

On geographics...Tuscaloosa is "very middle of road" city but it has an unrivaled FB fanbase and football program....you may say similar about Spokane in Basketball.

We can be a "great" destination again but will take continued and sustained success. We have an awesome group of asst coaches and are part way to being that great destination...hope we keep them.

You are right if you base the recruiting based on the ratings only. Personally I base them on the results I.e. wins/losses.

I follow what you're saying, but I think the difference is that some believe our recruiting is improving and may continue to improve moving forward. OA and CC are part of a supercar engine that has yet to reach its top speed.
