Right on. That’s how we got where we are, with Antigua and Chin. Illini through and through!!
OA and Chin wanted to be here 3 years ago. I respect their aim to progress and get varied experiences. Chester will likely move on in a few years after success here too. Players will start doing the same...thats modern college bball .

Yes and No. OA just needed a job after the scandal that could've followed him out of Florida. Going back to Cal isn't varied experience. Chin, absolutely a step up onto a bigger stage. Chester, let's see. I think he is more loyal than you think and might have been at VA tech for much longer had his alma mater not stepped in. I think if it had been any other school (other than the blue bloods) he would've stayed as Associate Head Coach...that is not a trivial thing. He was setting up to be a head coach with likely a broader role than an assistant would have. My guess is that now he is in a position to only leave if a head coaching job at a bigger school opens up.

It’s possible that Creighton is trying to counteroffer and that may be what’s holding it up. Who knows.
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they are especially motivated to do anything they can to keep Huss given the program turnover of late. I assume they can't compete salary-wise with us if we really want to, but I don't know Creighton's pockets. Either way, this strikes me as similar to what just happened with Illinois and OA/Chin. Rumors that OA is leaving and KY insiders saying it'll be done in a few days, then new rumors that Chin is also leaving and Illinois suddenly acts like a cornered animal and fights like hell to keep them, leading to a delayed announcement. Hopefully it's inevitable we'll win just like it was pretty inevitable KY would win, but I don't like the alma mater factor here -- makes the decision a tad more unpredictable.

Ethical behavior would prevent one program from stealing two coaches from that single team.

I’m upset about losing 2 AC’s too but finding 2 guys who are willing to leave their current situation for what they view as a better situation hardly seems unethical to me. Doesn’t matter where you get them from. Nobody forced anybody to do anything they didn’t wanna do. People had options, and they made a choice. Unless it was unethical for UK to give them the choice. Which would also be a questionable statement.

My guess is that they could afford anything they really want to. Creighton is in Omaha, Nebraska, also where Warren Buffet lives and I'm sure that he has friends deep into the Creighton Athletics, even if it's not where he went to school.

My "ticket connection" for Braggin' Rights game (sat next to Lovie last game...never clapped or cheered the entire game btw) lives in Omaha and says Creighton Bball gets whatever they want whenever they need it. No football, so they are the golden boys of campus. He never came out and said it, but alluded to Buffett being a "$ilent $upporter."

A business with VERY little real oversight. Something about foxes guarding the hen house

Just to twist it, however.

Howard Buffet, Warren Buffet's son lives in Decatur and has deep pockets too. Perhaps he has close ties to Huss from his days in Decatur and his dad would not want to give away his money to both sides. I mean Warren Buffet still lives in his 5 bedroom house he bought in the 1950's...

If we thought our best hire was two coaches from one program, you better believe JW, BU, and our fan base would be all over that. You're just mad because we were on the butt end of it this time.

Random thoughts:
1. I think its possible, and probably likely, we're waiting until the Gentry news is official to announce any new hiring(s). Maybe since they will be less-known than Frazier, they would rather announce both together (especially since one appears to be a promotion from within).
2. Not sure I believe that Irvin will actually be a part of this program. Seems like smoke, but no actual fire.
3. For all I know, most of the names being speculated could be completely made up. I know next to nothing about assistant coaches that weren't former players or aren't well-known to all.... And I highly suspect the vast majority of this board is in the same boat.
4. I haven't really been engaged much in here because frankly I don't care all that much and have nothing of substance to add. I think Underwood has established a culture and has shown success finding coaches at pretty much all of his stops, especially here. He built his original staff with guys he's never worked with, but was able to find coaches that fit the culture and can genuinely coach and develop.
5. The only way I become worried is if there are some substantial transfers out, and as of now, I don't see that happening.
