Why don't they give Marcus Liberty a shot? Didn't he coach Junior College and he would probably have an in with a lot of Chicago coaches.

Are we looking at 30 more pages of mental masturbation this week with the position still open come Friday night ?
I guess this confirms the classic proverb of ""Different strokes for different folks ""
TMI for me, but kudos for being so open about it

BOOM! Feed my ego.
No, but definitely 30 more pages of people suggesting former Illini who were good at basketball.
Speaking of former good players becoming coaches, Kevin Ollie's show-cause expires in 2022. Alternatively, UI can meet with the NCAA to justify his hiring. I'm pretty sure this is the move now.

Too late, he just got a new job...Former UConn Huskies coach and 13-year NBA veteran Kevin Ollie has been hired as head coach and director of player development for the Overtime Elite, a new professional basketball league for top prospects between 16 and 18 years old.

More on this new league...The OTE's plan is to offer six-figure financial packages and an academic tutoring component for high school players to compete against prep school and international teams in a year-round training program. These players would lose college eligibility but be able to advance toward the G League and NBA draft in a more basketball-intensive environment. (if they're lucky)

So, people are flipping out because a few of the information elite have mentioned some candidates, who may or may not have actually been considered AC candidates, are no longer in the running. I agree with those who think that the final AC choice will be someone no one has publicly considered. And, unlike some on here, I'm certain that Underwood is right on schedule in his search.
